you're more than welcome, thanks for sharing. You know the next step is to show pics wearing em in the wild?

Very cool rex

I have shoes the soles of which have never touched the ground. They could have been purchased yesterday, or a decade ago.

It's a sickness, I'm sure.

Damn it, you mean I have to wear them? :D

Too bad the 8000 give me too much heel slippage since it's a great looking last.

True. I am more comfortable in the 7000 last which fit me very well.
In the 8000 my toes are a bit tight and my heel slip a bit more. Nothing to worry I hope but I do prefer the 7000 last in terms of comfort.

I have models on each last - 7000 and 8000. Both are nice. I prefer the 7000 in terms of comfort and looks.

I don't see why it would be messed up ..

It's pretty much the same thing as with watches or cars that people buy and than stash it in the safe/garage and not using it/ driving it ..

...except for how it's not really at all the same thing.

Cars and watches, at a certain level, are collectible and tradeable. Bespoke shoes have worth only for the guy who had them made.

Fetish probably is the right word, as lasbar said.

Sometimes I get something new that I really like and would hate to damage or wear out. But I make a point of realizing that to properly enjoy them I cannot fear wearing/using them.

I was looking above the point of bespoke shoes. I didn't realize this was meant only for bespoke shoes.

For example, if you bought the Nike Back To The Future sneakers when they came - their value will only rise .. Try buying some on ebay for example.

Lot's of other shoes can also be seen as some sort of investment or piece of history and time just like the particular watch or car...

Bespoke shoes do not usually appreciate beyond the typical high end shoes price inflation...

Maybe if you die with some historic importance...

How 8,000 last compare to 7,000 last?

I know...

I have a bit of a collector's fetish..
Me, too. Lately I've made a point of wearing more of my unworn shoes, some were purchased years ago. Still have several nice pairs of JL and others that need to hit the pavement for the first time.
