I have girlfriends I view in a completely platonic way. I should point out, I am married and guard myself against becoming anything more than platonic with a religous zeal.

^seems dangerous to me, If I were married I believe I would avoid having friendships with women outside of work.

But i'm not married, so I do what i want. Which probably explains the random phone call/hang-up i got from a restricted #.....weird. So if you guys dont hear from me anymore you know it was some girl's angry BF that killed me.

On a serious note, one of the problems for me with having female platonic "friends" has been one simple fact of life: women operate on a totally different orbit, emotionally and mentally...that's this Mars/Venus ****...banal, yet true. Friendship is about understanding each other, no? If men and women do not understand each other by definition and operate totally differently, I don't see how it can really work. Just me, though
