How to soften suede shoes that were stiffened due to snow & rain?

Hi Gentlemen,

I have a pair of John Varvatos suede boots which I wore during the past winter season, wading through piles of snow and in rain (I lived in Ohio). I was lazy & ignorant about shoe care and I didn't do anything to protect the shoes against moisture. Now the parts of shoes where the suede had been constantly wet got completely stiff as if they are frozen. Is there anyway to soften up the shoes?

Thank you.

I may be mistaken but I don't think you can use Lexol on suede. There are suede shampoos and cleaners that may help. I would consult a good local cobbler.
