Obviously the weather's nicer in Melbourne today. Grey old affair here - and a rare day in a suit for me.

@FlyingMonkey

The light kills your photos. Good light (preferably in the shade on a sunny day or next to a window but not in direct sun) will give great results even with an Iphone. Try to find place on the way to work for example. I am blessed with a very large south facing window in my office so I get great light at certain times of the day. You have some really nice items in your wardrobe that would get more love if presented in a better way = better photos.

Thanks, Anden. Believe it or not I actually understand photography reasonably well - I've even had one my pictures used as a book cover. What I've done (or not done) here has been a personal decision based on the fact that I haven't wanted to get obsessed with taking pictures of myself. But it's actually become counter-productive since the shots are sometimes so poor that they do not do any justice to what I'm actually wearing. And I spend as much time explaining that as I would have done taking proper pictures in the first place...! So, I guess I just have to give in...

Any modern smartphone will take nice pictures. Just stand next to a window or somewhere with natural light and it'll look nice enough in SF. No need to invest in a camera setup just for SF, unless you plan on using it for holiday pictures or things like that.

This from last Saturday. Apologies for the crappy photos.

I recently had the shoulders taken in a little on this jacket and it fits perfectly now. Very pleased with it - love those suede elbow patches.

Playing hooky (officially a vacation day) from the office, and having lunch with Bernoulli today - noon at Le Bernardin, then probably the Modern, for the Matisse show, and maybe Paul Stuart's, for the MTO shoe trunk show.

I don't have a smartphone or I'd already be using it (yes, I am this unusual).
