Hehe. I know*. And the tie is plain, the collar is too wide spread etc., but I just don't have it in me... I hate the C in conservative business dress (and I don't have black oxfords or non-plain ties...), so I concentrated on plain gray and boring...

The top and bottom are inconsistent, incongruent.

The top is shapeless, sack-like in fit while the bottom is very tapered/fitted. One or the other, which is it?

That tie is too wide for the slimness of the lapel

Fit of the pants is also off. Too baggy in the thigh.

hmm, some of this impression is probably just the limits of photography. The suit is pretty slim all over - it's not baggy anywhere. I wish it were cut a little more full, actually. I'd prefer a higher rise trouser, a bigger lapel and a looser jacket. I do like the cloth on this suit quite a bit though.

Given the parameters, is the object to look as baller or as boring as possible in the conservative business dress challenge?

Welcome, I think you are off to a good start. One easy area that would improve the look is to shorten the pants a bit, would make everything feel a bit cleaner. Would also cuff but that is more of a personal preference.

Curious about the fabric of the suit, is it a woolen flannel? Very nice color/texture. I think the color palette is perfect, the burgundy PS, green tie and grey flannel work very well together. That said, I dont think the fit is as good as you have done previously. Jacket fits well, like you said, might benefit from a slightly lower buttoning point and maybe slightly wider lapels. Pants seem off though, maybe it is excess fabric in the thigh or an issue with balance between the front and the back (causes some drooping?).

The fabric is a mid gray twill. It is kinda wooly (I think that indicates a high twist cloth?) The suit is Michael Bastian.

JPQ - worth a requote. Your fits are consistently spot on.

Lovely fabric on that suit. I think camera angle wasn't all that flattering to the silhouette.
