Got a problem with these khaki pants

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this so I apologize if I am in the wrong spot. Anyway, I recently bought a pair of khaki pants that I liked, but it had a big pocket on the side (kind of like cargo pants). I decided to get them thinking that I could take the pocket off. I did so and it looks fine, but the spot where the pocket used to be is darker than the rest of the pant. There is just a dark pentagon type shape on the side now. Is there a way to possibly fade or brighten that area so it looks like there was never a pocket?

The answer is: not without a lot of trouble, most likely. The pants were probably enzyme washed to faded post manufacturing, and it's difficult to replicate that process. There is a slight chance that a very, very, dilute bleach solution could help, but you could also mess up your pants really badly. I personally could not recommend that.
