Thanks for posting such nice pictures, UG. Am I looking at shoes with f.lux on again or does that twill look like it has a little purple in it (in a good way)?

I would say there is a little purple in there but for the most part navy. It all depends on the light. When we get some sunny weather here I will take some outdoor shots for you guys.

I have a pair of Ralph Lauren PL shoes that are made by Edward Green on the 888 last. The y are in cognac color crocodile and they are new.

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the color on crocodile leather? I like to change them to dark brown or even black. Would anyone know if it possible to dye them a darker color? I have no experience caring for crocodile leather.

Any procedures out there, any service provider that you may know? Here are few pictures of the shoes, they were MTO ordered by a famous California governor at the Beverly Hills RL store, but never picked up. I ended up with them since the size is perfect and the price was irresistible.

Geezus yeah, that sounds more like a Christie's estimate from 2020 than today's sticker price. I actually misread what you typed at first and thought you said you had one, and the faint chime of a minute repeater began to resonate across my mind.

That is a truly kick ass collection, to state the obvious. 3970, so nice, you gotta buy it twice. Did you pick up the 5970, as well? That was the first "complicated" Patek that inspired me to read up on the company. Since we're talking about MSRPs, the 3970's was $42k when it dropped in 1986, if anyone cares (I just came across that now reading about the modern perpetual chrono family).

To get back on point -- those Harrogates kick ass. What's the combo? Is that mink suede? Actually, now that I open my eyes, I see they're the same ones the Unipair Guy is holding. Very nice. I am definitely going to have to get something going in two-tone of these days. FWIW I think I agree with sevenfoldtieguy, but both turned out really well.

Once you get up to the high $300s I'm thinking a minute repeater ought to be the minimum complication you'd want to get, although for the life of me I don't think I'll ever blow that much money on a watch. Thanks for the kind words. I prefer the 3970 over the 5970 (although I have a friend who owns both a 5270 and 5970 and they look great on them). Don't want to go too far off-topic but I'm a fan of perpetual calendars, specifically Patek's. Here's a short thread I wrote up in another forum about why I chose the 3970J:

Here is an example of the Dover in maple, not really a fan of the color myself. Edwardian looks allot more appealing to me personally:
