I'm starting a new job and am looking to get a nicer bag to use on a daily basis. I'd like something that is designer/luxury but is understated and timeless-ish, so no large logos, patterns, etc. Here are a few of the criteria:
- I commute so the bag needs to be big enough to carry a laptop, charger, a book/papers, etc. I currently carry a backpack but I'd rather have a tote, briefcase, catchall, etc. instead (slim briefcases will likely be too small)
- It rains a lot so something that is relatively water resistant since I commute - Leather is fine as long as it can be treated, bag needs to close/zip at top so that water doesn't get in (for totes)
- As stated above, something that is nice and timeless. Preferably it would be more towards $500 but for something I can use for years, I'd be willing to invest ~$1000
- Black, brown, navy, etc. (neutral colors)
I currently have a Billykirk schoolboy satchel, Filson original briefcase, and a black One Plus backpack. These are nice but too casual for what I need now. Any suggestions for bags/brands would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
