Thanks Carl and Robert. I now have 3 pairs on the 205 last. My favourites are these and 'Bristol' brogues. I am fortunate to live near the Northamptonshire factory shops. I wouldn't have so many shoes if I had to pay retail prices.

Dropped into the Factory shop today as their sale has now started.

There is now an additional 20℅ off the imperfect stock. Plus some nice perfect stock at low prices. Almost bought some boots for £100, but then was lucky enough to find these Tiger Moth boots (with Dainite sole), for not much more.

How are yours holding up? Mine are creasing quite badly at the vamp, like they are made of 2nd grade (belly) leather.

Not too bad at the moment - I'll post a picture below, before putting shoe trees in so at their worst if you see what I mean. It's not the best piece of leather I've seen from Cheaney, but fine for the price and considering this model needs quite a large single piece.

Anyone know the difference between the 'Pennine II' and the original Pennine? What changed?

I have a pair of both Pennines. Not sure of all differences but between my pairs there's at least these: width of the last(F on Pennines, G on Pennine IIs), construction (Pennines 270 dergree veldtschoen, Pennine IIs 360 dergree veldtschoen), also the leather is different shade.

Interesting, thanks. Sounds like it was an improvement all around
