I don't know why you are so opposed to bike shorts...they even make some that have a baggier outside that look like normal shorts (and aren't you doing this at home in private?)

when I got my first pair with a really nice chamois, it was like night and day--I felt like I could ride forever without getting sore. Wear your padding!
