He borrowed a s&%tload of money to finance his business that didn't grow as fast as he planned and he spent it on inventory and things that didn't sell. So the bank foreclosed. He had one of the bigger homes in BH. He used to put on a full circus for underprivileged kids in his back yard with plenty of room to spare every year. He had his own float in the Rose Bowl parade and a fleet of RR. He was a good guy and well meaning but he got carried away. He had quick success early on and I think he just thought that was the way it was always going to be. He used to send customers to me when I was starting out in business.

Are you really that unaware how inappropriate your questions are, let alone in public on an internet forum?

Thanks for the videos, Pocketsquare.

I really didn't know who this man was until this thread. Indeed, grand master-level marketing going on there.

The yellow leather jacket is . . . interesting.

I can confirm that St. Andrews at one time produced the suits...maybe in the 1970s or 80's.But it was when they were in NY. (This info came from someone that worked for him). Bijan was surprising respected by my peers, I never thought Flusserite's would like Bijan.

Did you ever buy any clothing from him?
I've known the store on Rodeo Dr, from
the windows, for maybe 20 years and know
how you dress now. Doesn't compute.
That aside, he had a big heart and will
surely be missed.

I had thought that Bijan once used Belvest as a producer.Despos wondered if Bijan ever actually used Belvest and he was almost certainly right that he did not. I knew that Bijan used D Avenza, but I thought that he had once used Belvest previously. It was probably St. Andrews.

For those who are curious about seeing some photos of Bijan garments, my blog post from Monday, April 18, included some photos of 8 Bijan suits and shirts we recently cleaned. Apologies for my unskilled photography. http://www.ravefabricare.com/true-qu...fabricare.aspx

A good reason why it was SA was when Harrison James grew off after the NYC closure, SA was the maker because they had a relationship already. This is usually the case with split offs.

I never really cared for his offerings.

Nevertheless, RIP
