I mean Sydney just rolled out the 'peak hour' trains with a 1x1 seating arrangement when something like that has been already implemented across many developed asian countries, america and the UK. ******* hell, it's as if the people who run out public transport systems don't read the news or get any insight from other parts of the world.

Interestingly, Singapore adopted both of Sydney's traffic light matrix for roads and public transport networking plan for trains. We've come a fairly long way since the adoption days. I guess that's where the close-to-seven-figure salaries of Singaporean ministers go. Believe me, they're not without flaws.
... Couldn't go 10 minutes in DC wihtout hearing sirens. The more perplexing thing of my previous visit Stateside was that I felt safest in Chicago.

Could be diplomatic escorts. Just hazarding a guess.

Back at Uni(CompSci). Fedora's and New Balance 407s everywhere, often thrown together with Dad jeans. Square toed loafers and oversized fake leather jackets. Lot's of Magnum tactiCOOL boots. So bad.

On the train this morning everyone's looking at me like "Whose that trendy dude in his cable knit with blue suede shoes(Loake Wentworth's)" But in reality I'm just standing there listening to Billy Joel.

Now I understand what is wrong with todays youth.

I'm sure you guys saw this, but wanted to say that I love Tom's pants and am going to try and get some like that - I love how the pleats make them look quite relaxed, but still appropriate.

Less than one week after Oroton announced a profit downgrade which sent the shares tumbling 10 per cent, the upmarket fashion retailer has announced the shock resignation of its long serving CEO Sally Macdonald and a reshuffle of its board.

The company has also surprised investors with a new fashion joint venture to help plug the earnings gap created by the loss later this its flagship Ralph Lauren licence with an agreement inked with iconic US brand Brooks Brothers to develop the brand in Australia.

Under the deal, Oroton will hold a majority 51 per cent in a joint venture company for an initial term of 10 years, with a five-year renewal option, with the first four to eight stores and possibly department store concessions to open at the beginning of 2014.

That's good as long as the BB prices are compatible against the pacific peso. That $50 shipping fee is a continual pain.

GF, I've been hoping that BB would come to Australia for many years - but given Oroton's outrageous pricing of Polo Ralph Lauren goods during their Australian custodianship of the brand, I don't hold out much hope that pricing will be comparable to the US.

Still, that's regrettably par for the course in Australia - we pay over the odds for most things, for a variety of reasons (sheer greed, import duties, smaller population, high rents etc etc).

It will be the standard case of wait for the sales and see if there is price parity.

Christ this place moves fast.

I have only ever bought RL or RPL on sale at DJ's. They used to do good linen shirts and the Andrews pant's cut was good. But its not something I would bother paying full price for.

Case in point, cargo shorts $169 sale price $70. Red linen Blake shirt $275 eventual sale mark down $60.

Tom has forward drivers and heavier set in the legs so he is a great candidate for pleats.

Christian's loafers look like he has nude feet in that colour:)

Oroton wouldn't be going into the JV if they weren't intending to r4pe Aussie consumers and preserve their margins. It's good business.

Sounds like a perfect match, the only time most people buy Oroton is when its on its 70% off sale as well.

Brisbane members - where do you shop?

I've been getting more into fashion in the last couple years but I still don't have a decent wardrobe and I'm cautious about buying online due to sizing.

I'm good for shoes at the moment but as far as almost everything else I'm lacking decent stuff.

(IMO) Too much taper in a lot of those pants, even for cotton, even for #menswear store owners. They're like those horrid "carrot" shaped jeans.
