^good point. I'm pretty familiar w/ AS sizing though now. My first pair pair I got on eBay for around $50 new. They still may be my best-fitting shoes. Before committing to higher end purchases, I experimented for a few years with new and used shoes from eBay and thrift stores. Averaging around $20 a pair, I bought used pairs from different manufacturers (EG, Alden, AS, C&J, Church's, etc.) to see which styles/lasts/colors/sizes I preferred. Now I'm getting stuff I hope to have for the next forty years or so.
Thanks, LC. They aren't shell but a thick, analine leather, I think, that Chay thought would hold up well to weather and other abuse but still develop some good character.
lucky you - there are some of the nicest AS's i have seen, are they shell?
