Can anyone supply information on the Berman (Berman's, Bermans?) Leather Company. Not the one with its own website which states it dates from 2001 and features only leather accessories, but the company that made the jackets and coats, such as in the '70s. I'm giving up my burgundy, assumably '70s jacket but want to know more about the company. I'm thinking they were a lot like the Wilson Leather Company, which was at so many shopping malls and which still has an outlet store near Cleveland, but I don't recall if they actually had their own shops in the malls or were just a brand name in other stores. These jackets often show up in our local resale shops and I see they are plentiful on eBay, etc.
Where was the clothing company headquartered (New England?) and what became of it

? Any connection with the one that currently makes wallets and other accessories? Thanks.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
