The Japanese Repro Clothing Thread (Real McCoys, Freewheelers, Etc.)

Hi! I didn't explain myself clearly. I meant the "visual communication", which is really DIY :-)

The Japanese Repro Clothing Thread (Real McCoys, Freewheelers, Etc.)

There is this brand which I just discovered (although they have been in the game for quite some time, apparently). They are called Connection Knitwear. As the name implies, I think they started out with knitwear but they are now fully into the repro game. They are from Italy, quality is top...

    Will Styleforum save fashion?

...well, that's obviously far-fetched but I honestly think it's people like us who can provide some much-needed relief to small brands and vendors. I think you have all read the numbers: this Covid-19 crisis might end up wiping off a large number of brands ands retailers. While some of the...

Need a cape? Only one piece in existence.

yep, while we don't have so many "seasons" behind us, here at AH, OKAY! we have already built a small archive of one-offs, sample pieces and "experiments" that didn't go into production. Case in point: this contemporary take on the traditional "cape". It's a sample piece, entirely made in NYC's...

    Best of 2017!

speaking of "trends", I think 2017 registered a couple of "peaks". 1) Peak Gucci. you are starting to see some wear-out at the top. The brand will keep churning sales for years to come...but I think both the growth and the cultural relevance are starting to wane. 2) peak...

    Best of 2017!

Here is another fav. from 2017. A velour sweater by SUNNEI. Over-priced and with mystifying sizing (I wear an XL...and I'm usually between XS and S!) but, once you manage to find the right fit, it's a killer piece. Wouldn't style it with the matching pants, though.

    Best of 2017!

It's more like a hybrid thing: part shawl collar, part roof-like hood. Granted, it's more conceptual than functional but I still love it :-)

    Best of 2017!

Finally got around to buying Kapital's iconic Ring Coat (had it shipped from Australia, of all places!). Pictured here, although no picture will do it justice: It already got a lot of wear-time. Super-versatile, comfy and always great-looking.

Over the Shoulders, Under the Knees: Long Coats

few options beat the duck down robe by dOCUMENT. I'm totally on love with it. I actually own another coat by the same brand but I think I'll need to cop this one too, before it goes out-of-stock again http://www.document-document.com/duckdowndetails

    Tennis Apparel - Niche stuff?

the subject line says it all. Is anyone aware of niche brands doing this kind of thing? I'm not thinking of tennis-inspired clothes. It's actual sportswear you can wear on the field I'm after :-) The closest I have seen, but I'm not wholly convinced, is Bjorn Borg's line (well, he/they started...

    Japanese blogs

Hi guys, I'm looking for Japanese fashion blogs (regardless whether the authros are Japanese themselves or expats) that cover, at least partly, the whole denim/heritage thing. Any suggestion? Thanks, Simone
