Random fashion thoughts - Part II (A New Hope)

I bought this for an ex about 5 years ago, so your wolf trend timeline checks out.

could be a simple case of "it's almost midnight on friday in Japan"... Maybe servers are being updated. I've had it happen to me several times on various websites. Go back in a few hours and see if you're having the same problems.

from what I've heard from several people who visited some of the trunk sales events... unapersona (sorry, won't use the stupid ancient 'v') was a bit of a mess. conceptually it was barely interesting and the execution was not very good at all... but they all bought m_moria shoes during the...

Sorry, unless you are trying to make your own clothes or are trying to do serious repairs, then buying a big (they take up a lot of floor space if you live in an apartment), heavy (have fun if you have any stairs), smelly (old machines are covered in old oil and dust and have a very industrial...

    ***SW&D Photography Thread***

Eastpak "The One" I have the fully blacked out version which seems to be out of stock everywhere now... It's super euro/nerdy but it's been quite handy. I can put a camera in there (olympus 35RC) plus keys, money, sketchbook/notebook, and some other stuff.

@gdl203 That's the thing though... How many people are opening new stores? Seems like most are jumping right into e-commerce and then if they're successful enough to try to open a store they do it a few years down the line. The ratio of doom'n'gloom to sunshine'n'happiness seems to be in line...

They say that Colette wanted to retire, but it's very strange that it's exactly when their 10 or 20 year lease would be up... I'm not sure if rents in Paris are similarly in the hands of the building owners and the renters get fucked like they do in NYC, but that's what I'd speculate. Also, one...

And another one. https://www.businessoffashion.com/articles/news-analysis/colette-to-close-after-20-years To me, this is crazy. I hate colette, but it's quite sad to see it go. It's just a sign of the times. Real estate values and rents going crazy. Small independents unable to continue...

Kim Jones was always kind-of a streetwear designer at heart. He always had that balance of raver/rapper/football hooligan oversized looks in his earlier collections. He played it cool his first few years at LV until he could use LV's power to do the ridiculous **** with supreme that he'd...

The Definitive MANBAG Thread, Part II: 2014~

@nicelynice that leather tote looks great. I would like to buy something similar to that myself... Any stores in Japan that carry that model that will ship to EU? Alternatively, at one point I found a french bag company that made a very simple canvas/leather trim bag that I would like to buy...

Not to sound like a dick, but are you really considering yourself a "designer" and do not know if shirts or pants have been made from silk? I think you need to do the minimum amount of research to know that UNCOUNTABLE shirts and pants have been made with silk.

Yes, but when you grade from a very particular starting point (Maurizio Amadei's body; wide shoulders, short torso, tiny waist, long arms, etc...) then you're already alienating the general population.

This was the only thing that stood out is this article... Is Lululemon really in trouble? When I first left the states it was just getting into trouble for selling see-through leggings, but I imagined they would bounce back. They were a huge growth brand as recently as 5 years back. Maybe...

Maurizio Amadei uses himself as a fit model. Anyone who's ever met him (or has seen pictures of him) knows why his clothes fit the way they do based on this tidbit of info. :bigstar:

And they do, lots of companies do just that. But most companies don't sew buttonholes by hand. Or cut single layer with scissors. Or do hand padstitching on jackets. Or finish cuffs by hand. Or dye each piece one at a time. etc, etc, etc. Hand stitched or machine stitched can not be said to be...

Unless the clothes are 3D printed they are hand-made. There is not a magical garment machine where you put in some measurements and some fabric and the clothes come out the other end. Clothes from H&M are hand-made, they are sewn together by human hands. But clothes from H&M are not the same...

I used to go to smith st almost every weekend to go to Homage, have a coffee and wander around a bit. And we frequented that tiki bar there where we would trick newbies into ordering zombies which always garnered the same sour-faced response. I moved out of NYC 6 years ago and the last time I...
