HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Both missing the point. I don’t have a beef with AAS or anyone else wearing Ivy. My point was I don’t understand where an Ivy feature like that friggin buttonhole belongs in a classic business formal suit. We all have our likes and dislikes that’s fine. As much as I dislike that button hole...

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Sorry AAS I know I’m beating a dead horse here - or beating a zombie horse that just refuses to die! - but this suit is exemplary in terms of fit, cut etc but for me is absolutely destroyed by that f**king buttonhole. Why? Just why? I know you like your Ivy and Ivy-inspired gear but as I learn...

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

Thats OK we’re a broad church. Life would be boring if everyone liked the same thing. Plus getting limited editions would be that much harder!

I see the new releases now. Belvedere my favourite from that batch - right up my alley with the shorter height and square-ish frames - seem quite similar to Molinos but I don’t think I’m tempted at $2k. My LFs bought two years ago were $1.8 IIRC. I also much prefer the Thunderbird temple ends...

I like these and think blue is a criminally underused colour for JMM frames. I have Herbies in cobalt and Dealans in Vesper and love that bright mid blue. All too often JMM uses colour names like ‘marine’ or ‘royal’ for frames which are barely distinguishable from black. Would love to see more...

Interesting pics thanks for posting. Look quite wide but the model may just be petite. Interested to see what they post up tomorrow - kinda hoping I don’t like any! I keep telling myself at 11 pairs I’m done - still have stingray Dealans supposedly due in July. And a suitcase incoming too!

I just got an email from JMM which connected to the LF stable but I didn’t see anything earth shattering there. Rawlins in some kind of brown Havana look decent and I always liked rover but not the gold on the arms. Didn’t see anything like a Jeff on Steroids. There may be more on Wednesday but...

Are you Jason Miller? (Look him up!) Thanks for spelling out what JMM stands for, ever since my debut on page 17 I’ve been wondering what this thread was all about. Weren’t you going to boycott this brand anyway?

Yup been saying this for a while now. Obviously black and some version of brown tort are always going to be fast sellers due to their versatility but collectors / nerds like us usually have those two colours well and truly covered so we’re looking for something at least a bit more exotic. LFs...

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Roy is that little fish and chip cafe still there in the cliffs overlooking Malibu? It’s been a dog’s age since I was there but they put on some good bait. The first time I took my wife to California she was slightly star struck with the place. I told her the real stars live back in the...

    WAYWRN: Classic Menswear, Casual Style

Yeah I’ve played the internet shoe size lottery many times and have by no means been lucky every time. Even on a US Brannock device my toes are a little over the ‘9’ line and I don’t own any shoes in size 9. Look at how every shoe thread on this forum devolves into comparative shoe sizing...

Loafers look great but make sure you try on first. I have C and J Harvard 2. I’m a US 8.5 so got UK 7.5 and they fit very close. Very nice shoes especially with their city sole which is like a more refined rubber dainite but they’re too small for me so now reluctantly on sale on eBay.

It’s got that button hole I was ranting on about earlier. Hard pass!😁 If not for that it looks like a decent jacket and a decent fit. How sad that this virus has spread to Asia too.

I have Molino in Hunter for sale. JMM described the lenses as ‘dark purple’ when in reality they are a light rose pink colour. Find for a cloudy day but no good to me in Florida sunshine, but the combo of Hunter (taupe/grey) frames and those lenses was pleasing so it can be done. Similarly I...

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

Next time steam it higher so you don’t have the button hole buggering up the lower lapel! 😁 If the roll hits on or around the top button it looks fine. If the button and button hole are lost behind the fold then their addition is pointless and they might as well have been omitted (See Daniel...

Leaving aside the obvious, the frames look good. I used to have an Open Road. For me it’s a hat that looks great from the side but I couldn’t get along with the three severe furrows as seen from the front. I moved it on and got a Stetson Stratoliner which is a similar brim width but with a C...

I like the look of this frame. Theres potential there for me if it’s released in more adventurous colours. Looks good on you but unlike me you look like you could handle a bigger frame if you so desired (Torino, Enzo etc).

They used to be called urine ties in the halcyon days of SF, as favoured by pizza magnate and hapless presidential candidate Herman Cain. Don’t take the criticism to heart, I have never seen one look good - ever. It’s just not a colour that works well in business formal outfits. More gold /...
