Show us how you roll in Engineered Garments

I haven't seen that at all, although I am not thrilled with the price increase for patterns and fabrics that have been in the lineup for nearly 2 decades at this point. But that's a separate topic.

Yeah, agreed. Unfortunately I'm mostly wfh since the pandemic so I can't justify buying much expensive stuff right now.

    Orslow

I get all that, especially for a growing company like Orslow. They have to deliver to a global network of retailers. Here in Paris they have 3 or 4 new retailers just since the pandemic, whereas before I had to order mostly from the Bureau. It's just that for me I prefer that my money goes to...

    Orslow

I appreciate your perspective. I disagree with some of it. But I'm not running a clothing store, either. In the end, I'm fortunate to have the choice of where I can buy most of my clothes from.

    Orslow

Likely not, but I am willing to pay extra money for clothes made in Japan, the US and the EU. I have very little clothing that is made in China, because I try to support manufacturing in those countries. That's just my own personal philosophy and I back it up with my wallet.

    Orslow

That’s super lame, for Orslow prices and reputation. 700 euros for an MiC nylon m65 is like RRL levels of silliness.

Depends on how you plan to wear it. The shoulders look a little big but if you’re wearing with a sweater or hoodie should be ok. I’m about your size and base eg size on shoulder fit. Too many other variables…

The Japanese Repro Clothing Thread (Real McCoys, Freewheelers, Etc.)

there are some hard-core repro brands in Europe like Pike Bros. (Germany), The Quartermaster (Italy) and Fleurs de Bagnes (France).

Not that I know of, but I have a similar shirt from Taylor Stitch in navy blue sateen. Same fabric, same pockets but it has rounded instead of square hems.

Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

Don’t know about their leather but the clothes are very high quality, with prices to match. That’s a fine looking jacket.

Made In USA (Streetwear & Denim American Style)

Those are brilliant, actually. The resoling service is a plus at the price point. The low top silhouette is very similar to the old Epaulet model, of which I still have a pair, but I prefer the Opie leather choices. I may need to start saving my pennies...

    Best Dressed Statesman

Of the current crop, I was watching Blinken speak the other day and thought he looked pretty good. His suit fit, at least.

    32 true waist? I would try S. I measure 33/34 and M is comfortably...relaxed.

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

I used to live in the area (PG). Crazy money with plenty of time to spend it. But the local "style" tends toward golf gear and Cucinelli...Visvim seems like an odd fit.

Love the slate blue color on the CC collab. You rarely see that, IMO. I've been weighing the new climbing pants but decided to pass. They are a mashup of Patagonia Stand Up shorts (RIP) and Carhartt doubleknees, with a tie hem from fatigues. Not quite sure that it all works together...

The Japanese Repro Clothing Thread (Real McCoys, Freewheelers, Etc.)

So. I have a TCB type II. My advice is size up at least 2 from your normal chest size, maybe even 4. I have a 40, which is my usual size, but I can really only wear a T shirt underneath. It's slim. It's kind of odd bc TCB is surely aware that historical Levi's jackets were fairly blousy. In...

    I’m Doubting Alden’s Future

Not sure -- maybe "more consistent" is what I meant. I'm sure LVMH would modernize production as much as possible and add some QC. I will say the Church's I've seen since the buyout have been superficially "nicer" than before, even if I suspect the materials quality is lower. A big group can...

    I’m Doubting Alden’s Future

I liked the Aldens I owned (Barrie last) but I sold them when I moved to WFH. Quality was perfectly fine; I freely admit I bought them for the aesthetics. If you like Alden's style, there's no direct substitute. Seriously doubt Alden's future is shaky. The market for heritage luxe brands with...

    Legit check Post O’alls

Legit. Post was based in the US for years and were made in NY. They moved to Japan a couple of years ago, although I believe they were always Japanese owned and/or designed. They are way overpriced IMO, especially if you buy outside of Japan. And from what I can tell the most interesting pieces...
