    Manhattan Sales Alert!!

I went to the Etro sale on Monday, at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The waiting time in the line in front of the building was ~1.5 hours. Most (or all) of the merchandise was 80% off. I managed to pick up a pair of jeans for $60 and a tie bar. Sportscoats and suits were quite costume-y, as I...

    Killer Ties, Killer Deals!

I got the tie #4 by Seaward & Stearn from Pocketsquareguy, and I must say that the picture doesn't do it any justice. Plus, the texture is similar to the only Charvet tie in my collection. Excellent quality.

Slim Fit Raincoat to Wear Over a Suit

The one from Brooks Brothers looks nice. I have a light-weight raincoat from Sanyo (sorry, no pic at hand). Their website still shows the heavy winter coats, but you can get some idea about the cuts. Unfortunately, I am in rainy NYC as well, stranded in my office without my coat and umbrella.

    Penguin?

Most of my polos and summer shirts are from Penguin. Very good price/quality ratio, in my opinion. Except for Filene's Basement, which btw. has had only paltry selection of Penguin stuff lately, I also shop at their store on western side of Bryant park. They often have sales there as well.

    Ways to Lace Up Shoes

I like #2 and #3 as well, but usually settle on #2 since it is easier to tighten.

    Undershirts in the Summer?

For those of you with underarm sweat problems, you need to look in to Certain-Dri (store bought, over the counter- in the deodorant section, sometimes on the womens side) or Drysol (prescription from a Dr.) solution. It is an aluminum chrloide solution that you put on under your arm pits at...

    Allen Edmonds last #6

Dear AE experts: I am thinking about getting my first pair of loafers, the Parklands by Allen Edmonds, which is on last #6. I know my size on lasts #4 and #5, should I get the same for #6? Should I get a bit smaller size, since these are the loafers? (That's what a local AE salesman suggested...

Black Socks Only! What's the next step?

I love GoldToes. I have more faith in them than in Pantherellas. Glad to hear somebody is happy with GoldToes. I swore not to buy another pair, since all the ones I bought keep riding down.
