Can I wear this suit jacket as a blazer?

I have a handful of suits and only one blazer. I was thinking about buying a second blazer but I have yet to find something that strikes my interest and so I've deferred that purchase til I find something down the road. However, that got me thinking, can I occasionally wear a suit jacket as a...

Can these AE shoes be saved?

I'm not expert but it kind of looks like a previous owner tried to use black polish to burnish the shoes? Acetone might work but let some others chime in and definitely watch some youtube videos on how to use that before you do anything drastic haha.

The School Fees We Pay - Mistakes We Make Finding Our Taste

This thread is sort of like AA but for clothing enthusiasts. So with that said, hello, I am bjornb17. I was referred to this thread based on my comment on another thread. Below is my comment but expanded upon for this thread: I've been on this sartorial journey for about 14 years now. They say...

How to cope with losing money with constant style mistakes when learning?

Thanks for the link that was a great read! Not only am I not alone, I think I've probably lost less money paying dues than most of the commenters (so far, at least haha).

    Suit Fit Feedback

Overall that looks quite nice and you'll look better than most people in the wild with that suit. However, I feel like the shoulders might be slightly too wide? And as another commenter mentioned the sleeves are slightly too long. Have you tried one size smaller in the jacket? The pants look...

How to cope with losing money with constant style mistakes when learning?

I've been on this sartorial journey for about 14 years now. They say it is about the journey, not the destination, and that is so true since my style and knowledge is ever-evolving. I figured by now I would have things more or less dialed in, but it is a constant process. When I look at my sense...

    Charles Tyrwhitt Custom Shirt Review

On the website go to the menu on top and pick Shirts, let it drop down and then you'll see Custom Shirts as an option.

    Charles Tyrwhitt Custom Shirt Review

I've been a pretty big fan of Charles Tyrwhitt shirts for about the past 13 years or so - their Non-Iron Slim Fit shirts just happen to fit me perfectly and in most cases the non-iron fabric is pretty nice. I still iron all my shirts but since I run around town from meeting to meeting all day I...

Foregoing undershirt when wearing dress shirts?

I do see the point with shoes since leather is a much grippier material that fits tighter and also since shoes don't get washed it is good to have that thin layer of sock to facilitate comfort and moisture wicking so shoes don't start to stink. A cotton dress shirt on the other hand is already...

Buying shoes when your feet have differente sizes?

If it makes you feel better I bought a couple pairs of MTO shoes based on my left foot measurement. I learned the hard way that my right foot was bigger. Had to sell those at a loss and had to re-purchase at the larger size. Oops hahaha

Buying shoes when your feet have differente sizes?

My right foot is half a size bigger so I just buy the bigger size. I don't wear any pads or anything on the left foot to accommodate. Seems like once the shoes break in they fit just fine without any aids.

Foregoing undershirt when wearing dress shirts?

I've been on a mission lately to refine my style in the sense of being able to wear my business dress clothes in a slightly more relaxed and comfortable manner but without sacrificing my standards and giving into the overly casual clothes you see a lot in the office these days. Also I live in...

French cuffs for a slightly fashion forward business casual in 2023?

Thanks for all the input everyone - and sorry for the delayed response, I didn't intend to abandon the conversation. Since I do have a pretty nice collection of suits now anyway, including a couple lighter weight suits I can wear in the summer, I might as well throw throw the jacket on as well...

How do these trousers fit? RL

They don't look particularly slim. I'd say they look quite good!

    The Official Carmina Sizing Thread

I've ordered several pairs and they all came faster than the stated 60 days. Seems about 4-6 weeks is the norm, and then the trip on Fedex from Spain to my house was only like another 3-4 days.

    The Official Carmina Sizing Thread

I haven't tried the other lasts but the few pair I have are on the Rain EEE last. I have a high instep plus a thick foot, and I love to wear oxfords so most brands of oxfords have a very ugly wide open V on the lacing due to my foot shape. With the Rain EEE last and erring on a half size bigger...

    Wearing your favorite outfit.... everyday?

I've been working on decluttering my house for the past couple years and I saved my wardrobe for last and have been working on it for the past couple months. I have a closet full of really nice clothes including probably 100 dress shirts. While they are all objectively nice, I find myself...

    The Official Carmina Sizing Thread

That is true but I can only imagine the logistical headache of running a MTO shoe program where there are probably millions of spec combinations. I'd say I'm pretty forgiving because I'm pretty particular with my shoe specs and always felt like I've been having to compromise one way or another...

    The Official Carmina Sizing Thread

Just wanted to follow up to my experience again. I finally ended up getting it sorted with Carmina and they ended up giving me a 15% refund plus getting the shoes remade with the correct specs. Slightly inconvenient having to wait again but I'm very pleased that they got the situation sorted out...

    The Official Carmina Sizing Thread

Quick update on my Carmina experience. I had ordered 5 custom pairs of shoes through their configurator. Unfortunately of the 5 pairs 3 were incorrect, either made to the wrong size or not to the requested specifications. Customer service has been bit hit or miss, it has taken up to a month to...
