*** Visvim thread: Dissertation on a Japanese Holy Spirit ***

I'd like to think of this aesthetic these days as organiclab.zip-core? I've definitely been migrating into this direction aswell, preferring Snow Peak, And Wander, White Mountaineering and old viz mixed in with ts(s), 45rpm and Nanamica. Would love to see a visvim return to form with some kind...

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

My the gold lettering on my current JMM optical frames started rubbing off at around the 4th or 5th month of wear. Been wearing glasses daily for like 25 years and that happens regardless of the quality of frame.

Virgils are comfy TTS for me and my feet are slightly wider than average. For comparison, a lot of newer Adidas/Nikes are much too tight for me at my usual size Check the spreadsheet on page 168 for more deets...

Anybody brewing with the Hario Switch these days? These things finally came back in stock on the Hario website, managed to snag the larger 03 size. Gotta say that in only a few short days of use, the switch fully dethroned the Kalita Wave as my new pourover brewer of choice. That full...

Nice fit. What are your measurements? I'm 5'10" and 178 lbs, deciding if I want to go with a 2 or 3

Lots of experience with both and I gotta say Nespresso is way superior to Keurig.

Wat. I've been to the LA store like 4 times, never bought anything there but got great customer service every time. The SA's seemed happy just to talk to anyone who had more than just a passing interest in the brand. FIL Tokyo definitely felt a lot more sterile/serious in comparison

Damn really tempted to get some bespoke Maison Bonnet frames now haha. I love my JMMs but not many frames fit on my big ass head. Looks like you get next level material options aswell - wonder how much better craftsmanship you can expect though

Gotta keep this thread going! Pretty much the same concept as the Clever dripper but some are reporting much better brew quality from the Switch. It's also not made out plastic (only a tiny part of it is). Only bad thing is that it only produces 200 ml of coffee but looks it is possible to snap...

Anybody have the new Hario Switch immersion dripper? Out of stock everywhere at the moment. Really want one as immersion brews are a personal fav

No but that's a really solid machine. That said, if I can go back in time, I'd rather not buy a heat exchanger and would probably just opt for a double boiler machine instead. You will get much better temperature stability, steaming powder and overall performance. While we're on the topic of...

Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

I bought from him before, legit reseller from Japan. Also, sometimes the Kapital webshop restocks sizes so you can also just keep checking. The item I got from that Grailed seller was restocked like 2-3 months later on the webshop but it's not guaranteed they will restock what you want

I would generally agree that Kapital quality is really nothing special. Some pieces really do have some cool fabrics but most of the recent stuff seems to be just average material quality relative to the cost.

Purple looks amazing but I feel like I might aswell cop similar pieces by Kapital or Cottle instead for less than jpy retail

Looks amazing in that counter space with the led lighting! Glad to hear it's pulling sick shots right outta the box crate. Now go get a bottom-less portafilter

I don't think you need a huge double boiler machine like the Linea Mini if you are making espresso only (unless you really want that La Marzocco commercial build quality/specs). The ECM Classika PID is probably the best bang for the buck. I'd also have a look at the Decent Espresso DE1+; that...
