my visit to Napoli & Mina @ Napoli Su Misura

@brax - nice. Let’s see some more of that pocket. My only thing I would change is lining the trousers. I neglected to mention it, and so it wasn’t done. Live and learn.

"What I'm Selling on eBay" - member auctions

Selling NWOT Aquascutum Kingsgate Trench in a 42R. I actually bought it from @gyasih a few years ago on B&S but never wore it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/233103197596

@aristoi bcn - That's really nice. I should check back in here more often.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

@an draoi - Not such an interesting story. I was living in Asia at the time and reserved it through the Hong Kong branch of the retail store and gathered it the following week in Tokyo.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

@an draoi - The Mitsukoshi is the best of the lot. The little red accents of the Apollo and the Tokyo detract from the overall aesthetic. As for the 50th anniversary Apollo 11, id love to see a reissue of the 105.012; which is essentially the same as the current moon watch (fancy lug) but...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Hello chaps. I agree with the sentiment that @LA Guy and @Dino944 have shared. If it doesn’t sing to you, no point in owning it. For me it’s always been love at first sight with the speedy pro since my teens. Currently I have 6 variations of the same watch, which in text sounds so dumb (having...

my visit to Napoli & Mina @ Napoli Su Misura

Picked up yesterday. Very pleased. 3 x 2 DB in the NMWA (@gdl203 ) Minnis 656 houndstooth flannel. Trousers to be finished.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

I’m still fond of the Panerai design. To wear on the chain, I think the 177 would be more suitable. Hell, it already has a pocketwatch movement, and can probably be had for a few grand less than its automatic siblings. Might I also suggest a b-uhr in one of its many iterations. I...

my visit to Napoli & Mina @ Napoli Su Misura

@WillingToLearn - agreed. In the end, these garments are made to be worn and enjoyed. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing sadder than a man of means who joylessly collects things.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

I wore a Reverso TT 1931 US edition almost every work day for 2 years. They’re very wearable, especially under a shirt cuff. In the end I got tired of the look of a leather strap, especially during summer months when I bike to work. Might I suggest getting a explorer or aquaterra on a...

my visit to Napoli & Mina @ Napoli Su Misura

@Baverso - they’re really easy to deal with so as long as you don’t deviate too much with their house style. You can make slight changes here and there, number of buttons, vents, lining, lapel width etc etc. I’m picking up a db suit that I had made from Minnis 656 flannel.

my visit to Napoli & Mina @ Napoli Su Misura

Just curious, @Baverso - if the opposite were the case, would you have not met with them? As the photos from @WillingToLearn and @unbelragazzo show; Mina and Dino are pretty good at fit. I generally have 1 jacket and 1 pair of trousers made by them a year.

@sinnedk Affordability is relative. Presage, however, offers nice value for money. If looking to augment time only with a chrono offering, might I suggest either the Presage SRQ019 (white) or SRQ021 (black), respectively. Can be had for less than 3000 USD.

^^ A question for the ages...hedonism is certainly a value system; not one I subscribe to. But, nevertheless, valid.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Let's not confuse the desire to own a whimsical piece to all of a sudden becoming the brand ambassador. These are, at the end of the day, material possessions and not detract, nor contribute, to individual's value.

Serious question, who is the final arbiter of taste and distinction. Also we’re all, to some extent, working poor.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

Is this from Wall Street Oasis? So ridiculous. I suspect if it wasn’t watches to make first year associates feel inferior, it would be ties, shoes, belts etc; although this was not really my experience. I suspect this mindset is more indicative of the IB side versus the trading side of the...

@Article 26 - The black and gold is quite interesting. If I were to buy a gold watch, and that's a big if, it would probably be a RO. That's just me tho...as I move toward a two watch collection.
