The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

When I spotted this post, I couldn't help but think of this exchange from 30 Rock:

Shoe Damage Report & Shoe P0rn Central - Part II

Wow! :slayer: If they had just eased up on the punchwork a bit, those would be perfection. Where did you get them, if you don't mind my asking?

Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Thread (including reviews, purchases, pictures)

Because you could get a pair of Corthay Arcas for a similar price and then you'd have an even sexier two-hole derby?

Mafoofan struggles to buy breast wallet at Hermes . . . arises victorious!

I was busy with the birth of my first child around the time you got the wallet, so this is coming late, but I wanted to congratulate you on prevailing in the face of adversity the likes of which few of us have ever known!

    Girls in Guys Garb

Checking the full-sized version of the photo, the shirt doesn't appear to have any buttons or buttonholes past the middle of the torso, so I would say that it doesn't count.

    Clarence Clifford Shoes?

Anyone have any info on this outfit? They've basically got nothing on their website. I only heard about them because they sent me a friend request through Facebook, which doesn't inspire much confidence in the quality of the product, but they do purport to be based in Northampton, UK.

    F.....U..... Mabitex

Stop looking at photos, and start wearing this **** in real life, and you'll learn in a hurry. 1/2 the suggested fits on SF would not allow the person to SIT in an office chair. True SFers don't sit in office chairs. They vogue in office chairs!

I think the girl in white looks awesome. +1 I like ethereal, waifish women.

Photoshoot I did last month (shameless self-plug)... Great fit on the jacket (if just a tad short in my purely subjective view), but I don't think such a conservative jacket works with the jeans.

some of the best split toe stitching i've ever seen. Why is there a difference between the toe of the left shoe (smooth) and the right shoe (slightly bumpy like a faux stitch)?

    Loding Shoes

sorry to bring up an old thread but there are still many unanswered questions about loding shoes. how do they compare to allen edmonds? are they worth the 150 euros they sell for? You can definitely get some sleeker styles with Loding than AE, but I think the quality of the leather on the one...

    Loding Shoes

Good quality for the price (approx. 150 euros), but with some caveats - very stiff leather, very painfull to break in! I bought a pair about 6 years ago and I'll say +1 for the stiff leather (I probably had to wear my pair a dozen times or so before it started to soften), but they've been...

Absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately, if I'm reading that price tag correctly, it's more than a bit out of my conceivable price range.

What Jacket Size Are You? Poll

This poll is mostly confirming my previously only anecdotal observations that SF is populated by a race of tiny men.

    White Trousers - Never?

In the March issue of the British Esquire, Greg Proops says "I live in Hollywood, where grown men wear white trousers. You should wear white trousers on only two occaisions: one, if you sell ice cream and two, never." Is there any basis to this in the concordat of classic men's style, or is...

It seems the top half is all peacock dandyism and the bottom half is daddy old geezer You hang out with a better caliber of "daddy old geezer" than I do if yours are wearing double monkstraps.

what do ppl think of the green suede shoes? I like them, but then again I own a pair of lizardskin balmorals in the identical color, so I'm biased.
