Re-using fabric from family heirloom suits from Venezuela: advice?

Unfortunately, it will not be possible to remake the suit jacket into one that will fit you because of the pockets that cut through it. It may be possible to recut the trousers around the pockets. The cost for this will likely be around the same price as or more than having new trousers made...

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

They put the pique polos on sale too, but they seem to frequently sell out in my size before going on sale. Do Uniqlo make all-cotton polos? I don't see any on their website.

Thanks! I'll definitely keep a lookout.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

I often take advantage of them, but getting a size S is not easy. There was practically nothing in my size when the sale started! Even in non-sale items there's little in size S available in the pique polo.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

Thanks, but it's not easily solved for me. I am slim without an unusually large drop. Taking in the sides doesn't work well for me because the chest will still be too large. I wore a shirt today that I had slimmed down in the sleeves and side seams, but it didn't end up so well because it...

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

That's brilliant! It looks like they have an option for no logo. However, they seem really overpriced. But it's something to consider.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

They kindly provided the measurements, which are too big for me. Unfortunately their only trimmer polo is a much different style.

    Thanks, I'll check into that.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

I'm just puzzled at how nobody has tried replicating the most quintessential polos—PRL and Lacoste—without a logo. I figured there had to be something out there, but I guess not.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

Thanks! The style is right, but I'm concerned that a size S may be too big on me if the cut is full. My chest is 37" and I'm looking for a trimmer fit, but not tight. They unfortunately don't have a proper size guide on their website.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

No, the standard Polo line with the pony. I want polos just like it without the pony.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

Thanks. This is the only one I've found. I've tried them on and the fit is great, but I'm looking for something with a bit more body and a lower price.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

Lots of brands have polos without logos. What I'm looking for is a polo in the same style as a Ralph Lauren or Brooks Brothers polo in piqué knit with a 2-button placket and ribbed collar.

Looking for a classic polo without a logo

I have been wearing Ralph Lauren polos for years. I love their classic style and high quality, and they don't wear out after 15 years. Their variety of colours and fits is superb. But I'd really love a piqué polo just like them in the same style and same level of quality at a similar price, just...

What lining colour for partial lining?

Thanks for the response. I usually get a full lining, but for a summer jacket in 90-degree weather I find that a partial lining helps a bit. I think I will have to go with a light-coloured lining.

What lining colour for partial lining?

With a half or quarter lining, the unlined part of the jacket can be a bit translucent if the jacket has an open weave. I've seen men in partially lined jackets where it's visible when they are wearing that the jacket is partially lined. What is the best lining colour so that the upper back with...

    Pant's too tapered?

They look better now, but I prefer boots with trousers that narrow. Balmoral boots would be nice with a suit. Don't worry about high super numbers. They do not mean higher quality. There are lots of inexpensive suits made of super 150s wool, and the wool is some of the worst I've ever seen. At...

    Pant's too tapered?

With trousers that narrow, they need to be hemmed fairly high. Wearing dress boots with such narrow hems is best to avoid showing sock. When such narrow trousers were last trendy in the 1960s, boots were very common. Same goes for the Edwardian era. Really dark burgundy shoes could work, but...

FRIDAY CHALLENGE 14 October 2016 - Bond, James Bond.

How do you guys have a Bond challenge on Roger Moore's birthday and not say a word about it?

    Usage of the term "suiting"

I know what he meant. Americans use the terms "bal" and "blucher" to differentiate between open and close lacing. Alden & AE have used the term oxford to be any lace-up shoe long before the internet existed. Oxford simply means something different to Americans than it does to the British...
