Bradford pears don't produce human-edible fruit, just little fruit that the birds love to spread all over the place.

Super invasive too. Not 100% sure I'd remove one if it was in my yard, but I sure wouldn't buy one these days.

    STEAKS!!!!!!!

Or reverse sear, same difference. Either approach is way more reliable for a group of steaks than trying to get them all right with a direct sear.

That makes sense from the needle pattern now that I see it. Cool plant. I have one of the full size Lebanese cedars, planted it last year. There's also a dwarf Japanese larch in there, and a Northlight dawn redwood just starting to push needles.

I do love me some maples. They all just leafed out last week. Running out of room to add any more, although I think I have room for two more this spring if I find something I like. You know what the one on the front left in the first pic is? Some kind of larch maybe?

Nice haul! You have names for those beauties? Looks like they'll be a really nice blend of colors and textures. I'm due for a visit to the local specialty conifer and Japanese maple nursery. I have a couple bed expansions that I'm working on, and I'm going for a pretty similar vibe. I...

It's also a monoculture that doesn't provide any nutrition to wildlife. Like, I get it, but doesn't make grass any less useful or convenient, especially when you live somewhere that has plenty of water.

Does anyone (not just SF, anyone) actually do "No Mow May"? I get the rhetoric, grass lawns are bad for the environment, but it's just so impractical that the only people who might do it would just get rid of their lawns. If you live somewhere temperate, May is peak growing season. My lawn...

    Lets talk about COFFEE

I had a bag from Barrington years ago that advertising tasting like bergamot. The flavor note was so over the top (the beans even smelled strongly of bergamot) that I'm reasonably convinced they just added bergamot oil to it. It was extremely tasty so I'm not complaining on that front, but...

That looks like a heart attack waiting to happen lol. Also making me uncomfortable how casually he handled that bacon and then touched other stuff without washing his hands. All them seasoning bottles and such are going to be all gross. :-(

It really takes some hutzpah to make a "Director's Cut" version of a movie when you had complete creative control over the original release version. Why bother making difficult creative choices and refining when you can just vomit out two different versions and indulge your every impulse?

It's not like CGI is cheap either, at least if you want it to look good. Some of the most bloated movie budgets had tons of CGI. (bear this is your cue to scream about Avatar)
