The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

I'm located in Oregon and I am very risk averse. That's good to know about EWC. I've dealt with a couple secondhand watch stores in the past in California, with good experiences but as you mentioned, the pay out never is quite the same.

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

I'm looking to finally offload some watches of mine (1967 Rolex datejust and 1973 Omega speedmaster) and curious what people think is the best place to sell online? I'm not sure I'm comfortable going the eBay or Chrono24 route and not quite sure where to go after that.

Just received the flare jeans from Matches and the measurements are definitely off. Ordered the 34 because according to the measurements, they should've worked, but ended up measuring 16.5" across. Plus, the denim seems to have a bit of give to them, so I'd say they're pretty true to size.

Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

Just got a pair of the one wash monkey Cisco jeans and I’m curious if anyone here knows if I should expect some shrinkage after my first wash/soak and how much stretch I should expect? reason I’m asking is I am kinda between sizes. The 32 fits but is definitely tight! The 34 fits with a bit of...

Need some help trying to figure out sizing. I’m looking at the velvet jacket and the beige houndstooth 3 button jacket from this season but after seeing measurements, they seem to fit insanely small. I’m normally good in a 21” flat measured chest and 18” shoulder. But that seems to be around a...

Jacques Marie Mage - Wolves, Obnoxious Acetate and The American Dream

Thanks everyone. I like the idea of them being lighter than the Dealan. I really like the Dealan but man, that weight has been a hard thing for me to get used to! -Calin, those look great!

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

Even if he starts something else, where's he going to advertise? Parlor? No one is going to touch that man with a ten foot pole....at least no one who values their other business relationships. He's a habitual bridge burner, which has even included the people who have been with him from the...

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

I will also say, one thing Kanye should get a lot of credit for is the creative company he keeps. He’s been particularly good at surrounding himself with talented individuals. He didn’t hire people like Steven Smith because he’s a scrub.

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

That is somewhat understandable but also something that is completely unverifiable. Celebrity matters sure, but it seems dismissive to say that someone couldn’t have made it or been as successful if it weren’t for one man.

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

So you’re saying Virgil gained all his creativity by osmosis? That seems, again, like an extremely flawed logic and one that completely takes away the individual talent of the people within Kanye’s orbit. For instance; Did Kanye only make great music by working with someone like Rick Rubin...

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

Just curious, but what sneaker silhouette is Kanye responsible for creating/changing that didn't already exist? Also, to say he "spawned" creative talent is taking a lot away from the creatives who worked for him. Kanye did not make them creative, nor was he solely responsible for their success.

Random Fashion Thoughts (Part 3: Style farmer strikes back) - our general discussion thread

Good write up on the pieces. I will say, I've spent more on J.Crew in the last month than I have in the last 15 years. I've been impressed with everything Brendon has put forward thus far. Different to whorishconsumer, the Kenmare suiting I find to be really good at the price. I have both the...
