    B.Nelson does a great job

You know, i've seen those reviews as well and i've chalked it up to unrealistic expectations. You get the same problems that pop up recrafting from someplace like Allen Edmonds. The difference is that Allen Edmonds definitely implies that you'll get a practically new pair of shoes back. I...

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2016 - News, Pictures, Sizing, Accessories, Clothing, etc

Are there only a few who ordered them? I've been in hiding from this thread since the Massdrop order (maybe a little before) because I have been buying too many shoes lately. I realized that staying away from the thread wasn't helping as I still bought a pair or Sandman slippers and...

Must have missed this if it was discussed originally, but are they not supposed to charge tax at all? Is MassDrop in NJ? I'm NJ and got charged the tax, but assumed it should be like that. I don't think I ever paid tax on shoes as they're considered clothing, no? If it was a mistake, i'm...

Same here! Quite proud of my restraint, actually, but as I normally buy seconds, I didn't see anything that screamed "buy me now before it's too late!"

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2016 - News, Pictures, Sizing, Accessories, Clothing, etc

I've had that fight in my head. . .but I think i'm a balancing act with that now. I used to always be quantity over quality and then recently moved to quality first. I'd like to say i'd prefer to have 5 really nice pair than 50 nice pair, but the fact of the matter is that I like variety...

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2016 - News, Pictures, Sizing, Accessories, Clothing, etc

I get a lot of wear from my Stockbridges. They were the first pair of AE that I got as "beaters." I think I paid about $40 for them (second hand, of course). They're my go to shoes for wet weather, but I find myself wearing them a lot more than that. They're VERY comfortable! The only thing...

The back of the white sole on my suede Strandmok 2.0s gets all mucked up (from driving). I'm going to have to try the magic eraser!

It's safer for me that I have no idea how many pair I have! (but congratulations!)

The toe box on one of mine looked like the side on yours. You can find pics a few months back in this thread. I looked quick, but couldn't find them. Ultimately, they're seconds and returnable. You can't really expect more that a refund (assuming you haven't worn them) in most cases. I was...

I love my Clark Streets but my normal size, 12b, was a weird fit. They were comfortable, but felt a little long and got bowing around the ankle while just standing around. I actually sized down to am 11d and they fit me perfectly.

Nice laces! I also did a Freiburg Friday for the rain. The creasing on mine is crazy enough that I got a credit towards my next pair to keep them. So they're my beater boots that sneak into my normal work days on occasion because, lets face it, even with all the awful creasing, they're cool...

    Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures

I bought the opposite (257) and carry the same load (MBP and maybe 1 book) and IMMEDIATELY exchanged it for the 256. 256 just seemed too big for my needs. Sometimes I wish I had the 257 --when I'm going on trips, but the 256 is perfect for every day. I've even fit 2 laptops with chargers...

I have taps on my park Aves, actually. Where do you buy yours? Been meaning to buy more, but I'm always unsure of the sizing.

They also seem to sell thin sheets (less than half the thickness) which might be perfect for brown and natural edges (since it won't show). I've been putting off having mine done for several reasons. I want to have them done because i wear out at the toe FAST, but I haven't done them yet...

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2016 - News, Pictures, Sizing, Accessories, Clothing, etc

I didn't mean $3.33 wasn't a big deal. On the contrary. If they're the same thing, and you have to buy several, it adds up. I'm all for spending more for quality, but the Cedar Elements ones are pretty damn close. I'm looking at them both right now and they're not exactly the same...

Allen Edmonds Appreciation Thread 2016 - News, Pictures, Sizing, Accessories, Clothing, etc

These are the ones I ordered: Cedar Elements Twin Tube 2 Pack See above - Those are the ones I got. $40 seems $5 more than the $35 Massdrop is getting, but with the free shipping you save a couple bucks. Those are what I used to get. Buy 1, get 3 free. You're right, though, I...

I was going to say the same thing. I was pissed I forgot about the last massdrop on these trees and have purchased two sets of two of the Cedar Elements trees since. I've got the Woodlore ones as well and they seem about the same quality (and the same fit). Woodlore is the manufacturer...

I've heard time and again that the Cavanaugh is a tough fit for most people. I ordered navy suede cavanaughs and they were way too wide. My feet justl slipped out of them. i ordered a pair of Concord Ave seconds (same last, same size) for $47 because, at $47 --why not??, and they fit me...

I usually do, although I don't if I just run out real quick in them. If I wear them all day, though, I just feel like I should. Having had cheaper boat shoes in the past, I just want to make sure that the insides don't turn out like that --Even though I wear loafer socks these days. We...
