I think most us never pay full retail, or cannot really afford to so we stock up during sales, liquidations, and closeouts. At least this is what I have to do because of my average means. So basically outlets and Winners.

I think Shake Shack might be fine in the long run. Toronto seems more like a city for foodies instead of fashionistas. I’d say way more money is spent here on food and drink versus clothing. We’re not quite the shopaholics like our southern neighbors.

Is this for something like a Barbour or Belstaff jacket? I think your best bet might be to do it yourself. Basically spot cleaning with a damp cloth or sponge. That’s what I do. If it’s really soiled and or stinky you may need a mild soap specifically for waxed cotton and a lot of time...

The largest sizes that I recall seeing are 54 EU (44 US) for jackets and suits and I think 38 waist for trousers.

Was this in any way related to the SA rubbing you then wrong way that posted about a little while back?

May I ask which shops V Hazelton referred? I’m always on the lookout for good alterations tailors for more complicated work.

I've used Xavier Custom Tailor near Yonge and Bloor in the past. I have been relatively happy with the work, but I haven't used him in a while. He seemed a bit pricey from what I can remember, and I think there are mixed reviews - either great, or horrible. I'm still looking for someone to do...

Ok, here’s what I saw at the pop up and found out from the SA: the stock is all from V Hazelton and they plan on staying at the site for about 3 months or until they’ve sold everything. All clothing and shoes are 50% off of the retail price (so far!) In terms of shoes there’s Bontoni, Santoni...

Can you share the details about this? I’ll likely head over and report back to everyone.

Here are some photos. You'll notice that the bracelet seems tarnished. I'll probably replace it with a leather strap of some sort. I just hope this is a real vintage Omega!

I just stopped by the new Harry Rosen outlet at Heartland a few minutes ago and I’m sad to say that there’s nothing too exciting there even with the extra 20% off. A few Belstaff and Boglioli jackets caught my eye along with a pair of Santoni shoes because they seemed to be priced well. I also...

Are there any watch lovers here in TO that can recommend a good place/person that services and repairs vintage mechanical watches? I received an old Omega Seamaster DeVille from my grandfather that needs servicing and could use a good polish/cleaning too. I thought about sending it to Omega...

What size are you? Off the rack is not too bad of an option if you’re a 38R, 40R or 42R. There’s a lot offered in those sizes. Personally I use Xavier near Yonge and Bloor for slight tweaks.

Hi, can anyone here name a place that does a high quality machine made sleeve buttonhole? My search has indicated that Towerbespoke does nice handmade (hand finished?) ones, but I'm looking for something a bit more economical since that jackets I want altered are not particularly expensive to...

I agree. I'd also say that their selection is not even the best in Canada amongst their own stores. I've been to Holt's in Vancouver and the menswear selection there is far superior to Toronto's offerings. I think the standalone Men's store had potential, but it really needed great...

To be fair, the staff are usually courteous during non sale periods. I was at both the Bloor and Yorkdale locations yesterday and I noticed that a few of the customers were not particularly well behaved - they seemed pushy and entitled. I think the biggest problem is the merchandise being...

Everything was placed together on a couple of sale racks. I remember there being a number of smaller shoes, don't know the sizes, however. The majority were sneakers and casual shoes about 40% off. The Ferragamos were outliers in terms of price.

Not for classic menswear....I do remember one salesperson constantly telling one customer that this particular sneaker that he was trying on was an insanely good deal - I think the brand was Buscemi. I don't know the price, but I assume it would probably be in the 70-80% off range if the...

PSA: Holt Renfrew at Yorkdale has a few Salvatore Ferragamo Tramezza wholecuts (Carmelo model) in black suede for sale as of late last night. They're about $240 down from $1200, so 80% off. I know they had 9 1/2 EE, 10 EE, and 12 EE, but not sure about other sizes. They run about one size...

The jackets can be returned? Good to know, I might return a baby blue summer Loro Piana jacket.
