A few pages back someone gave it a good review, but did mention they are prone to pilling

It's certainly a delicate balance to strike with retail

I finally made it out over the weekend as I was busier than I thought during the week. I agree, the space is great and lots of potential. Much better than the old showroom which was a bit dingy. Echoing your sentiment and S&M themselves earlier on this thread, it very much is a soft launch so...

For any GTA locals, I will be stopping by the new storefront this week to buy a new suit. I'll give my feedback afterwards.

Agreed! I would be there in a heart beat. I really want their storefront to succeed and I think that would be a great way to get the word out for local clientele.

Weather finally gets cool enough to wear my grey brushed Shetland tomorrow, I'll let everyone know how it wears day-to-day. Probably with a white OCBD underneath? Not sure They have some striped rugby shirts up on the preview page, might be of interest to those into the preppy look. I might...

I would say true to size leaning just slightly to fitting more snug - but I also have put on a few pounds lately. Hems seem fine so far but haven't worn it out yet.

Ordered & received the brushed Shetland sweaters - it's VERY fuzzy, but I think that's the point of the brushed sweater. I'm not completely sure how I feel about it

Yeah - I have been looking at grabbing a pair of dark selvedge denim, but I run cold and our winters regularly get below freezing, so that's more of a fall and spring item here. Glad to hear their heavyweight chinos are good - I didn't love their light weight summer chinos. The fabric is too...

I've found trousers with a higher rise just work better with my proportions; I have a pair of S&M's summerweight chinos in the high rise and I like how they fit and look (although the fabric is another story).

What would you guys recommend for a solid business casual fall winter trouser? These are for work, but I don't have a strict dress code, so they don't have to be overly formal. I've been looking at a pair of their high rise flannel trousers - perhaps too dressy? I generally wear a OCBD &...

Bought a few of their high-twist knit short sleeve polos and love them. Fit is great and love how the fabric feels. Also grabbed one of the linen-cotten johnny collar polos - bit more mixed feelings.

Yeah, they are moving to Heartland mid-November, according to a staff member I spoke to. I was there a few weeks ago, selection was decent I would say. A ton of shirts especially, but as I said it's a bit disorganized. Less jackets & suits, though.

Yes. Picked up a nice cotton/linen crewneck sweater for $40 CAD from back there. It's a bit disorganized.

Has anyone purchased this season's canvas chinos? I really wish they were high rise. I'm also curious if anyone has any experiences with their merino wool products - really looking to bolster my knitwear for this season. Btw, haven't seen this mentioned but for those that are local, S&M will...

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
