Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

Thanks for the info. I guess it's worth trying to land one of those earlier versions then.

Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

For anybody that owned the earlier Margiela 5 zips (99 to early 2000s or whenever the mrs zips stopped) and the later versions (2006? going forward), were there any marked differences in the weight or thickness of the leather? I'm used to leather on the heavier side and only have handled a few 5...

I think that thing is pretty recent.

BBS has that hanging tag on the back for his outerwear. I could do without that honestly. Sometimes people think it's something that can be pulled and have tried with my jackets/coat. Incarnation has small inconspicuous studs at the bottom of the jacket and branding on the zipper pulls. A...

Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

Honestly, I think a good compromise would be to sew that label inside the jacket where the internal pockets are located. Maybe, one can ask again if they have completely refused the option. For as long as I have remembered visiting their website, I've never seen the option for no logo patch. I...

Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned?

I thought LL was willing to have the option of no logo patch if you specify it. I read it here previously and I think I may have asked directly as well.

Much like that RO Japanese horsehide Stooges. While it's good to see more places carrying such clothing, it does make me wonder how long it will last.

Find something in kangaroo. I have a 5 zip in horsehide that's quite soft. I don't think one will mistake it for lamb but you wouldn't definitely think it was horsehide. Bison leather I've handled before is quite soft and pliable. I would assume it's as durable as horsehide and calf.

Does it though? Those shoulders are really narrow for a 52. How was that sleeve width taken? My ongoing problem with CCP are restrictive sleeves at the upper arms. This one is borderline as well.

We're talking about 2 different ideas then. Kiya won't be taking ideas here seriously going forward because sinnedk flaked out. Thanks sinnedk. Lol!

I'd go with a 52 but no guarantees. That object dyeing process can result in varying fits. Best bet is to find a retailer that has it in-stock and ask for measurements.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? 5k elsewhere is just worth 500 in SF. Are we talking about San Fran or Sty Fo? Eh... same value for both places anyway.

I wonder if that prosthetic titanium at the back will be annoying when walking. The only thing that has intrigued me with these new pieces since SAFE is the pinched seam on the latest fencing jacket. Haven't seen it on a leather other than bison which I'm assuming is easier to do on it because...

That doesn't make it obsolete. You're misinterpreting my intent. It does create that mindset though. Never did I claim a totality which seems how you interpret what I posted. Just have to look at grailed. Anecdotal but I've tried selling an unused new with tags jacket at around 20% less SRP. I...

That's you and that's good. I'm sure there are examples with clothing. I can include myself to that. But do you believe this is the common practice for the majority especially with people following trends in clothing? I'll try to prove it... once you've pointed out where I said that l think...

Ok. Now that they know it's made by Cantatelli, did that person go to Cantarelli or a retailer to buy a coat from them or are they sticking to thrifting Cantarelli coats? I didn't say that secondhand markets don't inform primary markets. Ok. Necessity is a keyword here. I think you mean that...

Projection on my part? If that's what you mean, I can't agree. I am referring to clothing and fashion in general anyway so I can't say anything about your pottery buying. Your practice doesn't really apply to a person thrifting for a 5-zip thinking they can go to the manufacturer to buy...

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

I think the secondhand clothing market creates shoppers or thrifters that won't become established customers for these designers themselves. Instead, they're established customers of grailed, Vestiaire, etc. It's the mindset that the secondhand market can create in certain people (or have...
