Denim Style pockets on dress trousers
Interesting choice of words. I like them on odd trousers and khaki's (GetSmart just barfed), would no get suit pants with them. I concur. IIRC they were first utilized by carriage drivers.- Nicholas

Cheap Shoes too Shiny
I ripped the plasticky finish off a pair of Bostonians with acetone and built it back up with shoe cream, polish and conditioner. They are now decent looking (but not great). Make sure you're wearing gloves when you're using the acetone. I did not and my fingertips on my right hand are still...- Nicholas

Tapered trousers getting caught on socks and wrinkling behind the knee
Sounds like they're too tapered. OTC socks won't make a difference since it's the fabrics rubbing against each other, just like with the sleeves in an unlined tweed jacket. Maybe you're better off not wearing socks at all. At least that's my experience.- Nicholas

Men caring less and less about good shoes?
Most men just don't understand that a $500 shoe last more than 5x longer than a $100 shoe. I know I didn't understand this when I was 25. To them, if all shoes last 2 years anyway, they are gonna buy the $100 one. Sadly, this is quite true.- Nicholas

Interior Design
I like the architectural details -- but I couln't live with most of the furniture items in this thread. Light-weight (9-oz) Flannel Suit

The mafoofan and Thom Browne philosophies are not too unlike.
But he markets the short pants as being definitive of his look, whether the wearer actually hem them that short or not. True, but then the same goes for the short jackets both in sleeves and body, as far as trademarks I mean.- Nicholas
