** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

Anyone checked out the closing down sale at Matches? 40% discounts on a few C&J models. Still some pretty standard sizes left too. What's really annoying is that they have the roughout Conistons I paid £350 for a couple of months ago at £300. Oh well.

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

I agree that in decent weather, trail running shoes are best for general hiking, and this is what I tend to use. I guess some may prefer more ankle support though.

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

I too can't see any discernable differences in quality between a 25 year old pair that my friend has and my recently purchased pairs. Leather quality, construction and finishing appear identical. To say it's indisputable that the standards are universally lower is quite a claim and should be...

Of course, will PM so not to clog the Tricker's forum with irrelevant posts.

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

It's subjective of course, but I would choose a number of specialist hiking brands over the Tricker's. I do lots of very long hikes, ranging from 30-50km so value my walking boots being lightweight. I'd probably avoid GYW construction for this reason. I don't really care much for looks with...

Problem with these is, there are better looking boots for less money, and better hiking boots for less money.

Some outlet Bourtons from way back when. Colour remains a mystery.

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

These are for those who want to do a small hike around the park, probably also wearing their barbour jacket, and then go into their local pub to be seen in their stylish gear. Of course there are companies that make much more technical, waterproof, light and conformable hiking boots that belong...

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

Thanks, yeah I've seen that. Tricker's have the same woman rubbing wax paste with a sponge on almost every kind of leather they sell. I have a feeling they're better at making shoes than maintaining them.

Any tips on caring for olivvia deerskin? Same as standard calf in terms of product and regularity?

Plenty of non-cordovan on here mate. Nice boots btw.

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

I've been wanting some black stows for a while now and have been patiently waiting for the right pair. I never have any luck with the outlet as either nothing I like appears in a size 9UK, or it does, and Crafty beats me to it while I'm deliberating. After a quick discussion with my long term...

I had a pair of Rancourt boat shoes and yes I found them pretty unsupportive and uncomfortable, not to mention abhorrent to the eye. I also avoided wearing them, until I gave them away to my dad. I imagine he is now in the process of finding someone else to give them to.

Boots Boots Boots - For Boot Guys Only

That's an unusual idea indeed. I actually like the aesthetic of the elastic on chelsea's - adds to the style in my view.
