    Quality Shoe brands under 300€/$

It's hard to find loafers with rubber soles. You can get them from Herring Shoes. I've bought 4 pairs of shoes from Herring during the past year and their prices are usually 30-35% cheaper than prices inside Finland...

    Trousers for autumn

Stockmann has Oscar Jacobson 100% wool flannel trousers for 229 EUR but you can quite often get 20% discount codes if you are a "kanta-asiakas". Or you can just order them online from oscarjacobson.com and pay full price. I have a pair in dark grey and another pair in dark brown and they are...

    Pictures of nice gloves...?

I really love the Sauso marine-coloured unlined peccary gloves model name "Heikki". So much that I now bought a pair of the same gloves in the same colour, but this time with cashmere lining. Couldn't pass up the deal as they were again on sale for half price. Kinda makes me feel a little bit...

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

So I just added two new pairs of Loakes to my collection, in addition to the six pairs I already own: - Chatsworth "Burgundy" - Roehampton "Dark Brown" Immediately took the Chatsworths to my local cobbler to get the insteps stretched as I can't get my feet in and out of them otherwise (I...

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

Chatsworth can be enlarged by a cobbler by stretching the instep. I just had a pair done, added 1cm extra space to the instep as I was unable to (without a ******* struggle) get my foot in and out of the shoe. After stretching, they were wide enough from heel to instep but they were too tall...

I'm balding and I'd like some advice for a new hairstyle

This. Except it hit me at age 22 instead of 32. I've kept my head buzzed clean (not shaved, but cut with clippers to about 1 millimetre) since I was 22 years old and I'm 57 now. If there were a miracle cure for baldness announced today I wouldn't take it because my hair is uncontrollably curly...

Desert Boots bleeding colour onto my trouser legs.

I have a very nice pair of Clarks Desert Boots in "beeswax", which I have worn maybe 5-10 times, that won't stop bleeding brownish-reddish colour onto the inside of my trouser legs. This is especially noticeable with rolled up beige chinos or jeans. The model in question...

    Building up my wardrobe

Lots of good advice there, all of which I left unquoted as there is nothing further to comment. And then a few points of contention... While I do somewhat agree that setting and situation is important, I also feel that one should definitely not go with the flow and try to fit in. If we're...

Rayban Wayfarer replacement.....what manufacturers use glass lens (vs polycarbonate)?

I misjudged the intent, then. There is no doubt that the quality of synthetic lenses has improved by leaps and bounds during the past decade or so. There is also no doubt that the optical clarity of synthetic lenses is still nowhere near that of glass, otherwise they would already be using it in...

Rayban Wayfarer replacement.....what manufacturers use glass lens (vs polycarbonate)?

Yeah, it's also kind of important if you go on summer vacation to the Cyclades where the wind can blow lightweight plastic shades right off of your face. I've spent 5 summers there for 2-4 weeks each stretch. Vicious wind is an understatement, all while there is not a single cloud in the sky.

Rayban Wayfarer replacement.....what manufacturers use glass lens (vs polycarbonate)?

Is there a reason why some people want 100% cotton jeans without stretch? Is there a reason why some people want 100% juice and not some kind of strange mix? Is there a reason why some people want solid wood furniture instead of veneered MDF? Sorry but your question carries a condescending...

Rayban Wayfarer replacement.....what manufacturers use glass lens (vs polycarbonate)?

At least 5 years ago, maybe longer. They are engaged in quite a bit of false advertising on the topic these days since there isn't currently a government consumer protection law to prevent them from doing so. "Ray-Ban no longer manufactures lenses that are 100 percent glass. However, they offer...

Rayban Wayfarer replacement.....what manufacturers use glass lens (vs polycarbonate)?

RayBan doesn't make full glass lenses anymore. They make a crystal-polycarbonate composite lens now (part glass and part plastic).
