    The Excel Questions Thread

Try this formula: =((A1-B1)/B1)*SIGN(B1) It just changes the sign of your to the sign of "yesterday's" number.

    Manhattan Sales Alert!!

I saw a pair of US size 13 (I forget the UK size) Edward Green Piccadilly loafers in brown (most closely resembled in these) at, of all places, Century 21 in Fidi. They are a little creased, most likely from being tried on, but not too badly and the soles weren't too worn. The tag on the box...

Milan/Paris Travel Tips for Spring Break

In Paris check out Le Caveau des Oubliettes. They have a very cool basement (from the 16th century) where jazz musicians play after 10PM.

How many meters did you swim today?

just out of curiousity - those of you who swim 2000-2500 m, how long does it usually take, about? For 2000 yards, I'd assume a fast swimmer would have it done in between 25 and 30 minutes. That's assuming they just swam straight without breaking it into sets. I start my swimming back up this...

    Gym and running apparel.

Champion C9 mesh shorts - 9.99 at Target. Any cheap T-shirt at Target: $5 or less. Get into the gym, crank out your workout in 45 min and gtfo. Not sure any handwringing about gym attire is really warranted. I still use my Champion C9 mesh shorts and the wick away type shirts that I bought 4...

Modern greeks uglier than ancient greeks?

I saw some incredibly beautiful Greek women when I was in Athens. Yeah, you can find beautiful women in any city and I see a lot everyday in NYC, but they seemed to be different.

    What's your favorite 'cheap' beer?

I ******* love me some Yuengling; it's my go-to cheap beer. The bars back home regularly have it for only $2 a draft. Usually lager is my go-to cheap beer choice but lately I've been really into the Black & Tan. Give it a try if you haven't already.

    Drinking water

My water at work is filtered through one of these things: At home I just drink good 'ole NYC tap water. What doesn't kill you, etc etc.

    Exercising in the morning

I'm not what you would call a morning person, but I forced myself to workout in the mornings because I had no will to put in a workout after a long day at work. Do whatever you have to to get into a routine and you'll find it easier to wake up as time goes by.

How many miles did you RIDE today?

How do you like the road machine? I'm in need of the trainer and am trying to decide between kurt/cycleops. For what it's worth, I'm loving my new Specialized Toupe. Race ride in an hour, but I think I'm gonna stay home, since my allergies are acting up and there are 45mph+ gusts currently. I...

How many miles did you RIDE today?

Just got a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine and did an hour yesterday. Still trying to break in my new Adamo saddle, but I already notice a difference compared to my old Arione.

    Rolex Sub or Omega

If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Rolex. It's the quintessential dive watch. However, if I was choosing I'd go for the 50 or 500 Fathoms.

Florsheim by Duckie Brown. Made in India. I thought this was a joke.

Wardrobe Staples/Essentials - New to SF

Thanks for the advice, I will continue to read and see what items I can start adding to the wardrobe. First of all, let me say that there are some BEAUTIFUL watches in this thread inspirational, even. In fact, ever since I peered at this thread in curiosity a few weeks back I've decided it's time I invest in a watch myself. Something for dressing up- which I do several times throughout the...

    The Excel Questions Thread

sorry if it's already been asked in this thread, but what's the best way to learn excel from scratch? In addition to what Biggskip said above, once you get semi-proficient you can just go back through this thread and read it; you'll learn a lot that way, too.
