The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

Thanks! The cummerband is definitely there. I might loose points for its position, though. As for the notched lapels: I am aware of the "sin". My next commission is pointy. BTW, my son does have peak lapels.

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

Yesterday I attended a black tie event with my family. It lasted for a quite a few hours. I did not have a watch, and I enjoyed every minute.

Have fun! I got mine (in color #8) 2.5 years ago. They still look new, even though I wore them about 500 times, and I do not need to resolve them, despite the 1,500+ miles they strode.

My sharkskin charcoal suit was lucky enough to never show any stains. I wore it for two years about once a week, and it only required steaming in my shower. However, I am not known to be an amazing dresser, so who knows what I missed.

You have many more suits than I do, and you are much more experienced than I am. However, I would like to add that surprisingly, my (single) Filarte suit is in a much better condition than my Minnis Fresco (again single) suit. I wore each of these suits about a hundred times.

I got my order in less than a week, which is a record time here in the other side of the globe (Asia).

The canvas of my Minis Fresco suit has completely frayed. Since then I opt for full lining in every new jacket that I buy for more than a year.

It never happened to me with their shirts, but it did to my fresco suit's jacket: I decided to risk it, and purchased the new VBC high twist:

SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

Hi, I hope that this is the appropriate thread this post. Otherwise, please correct me. I was wandering if anyone else who owns a S&M (half-canvas) fresco jacket has suffered from fussing dissolution (“bubbling”). In the past half year since I purchased it, I wore my navy fresco suit once...
