Completed suit in P&H 18oz Thornproof. It’s a dark Donegal brown, which should work nicely in the city. The fabric was out of stock for ages (with delays in reweaving) so this project has been long in the making. It’s 23C and sunny here, so perfect weather for it?! Something to look forward...

Nice patterns indeed. Looks like Fox hasn't yet added this book to their website...

I did. It's one of the most popular LL designs (I think it's been rewoven at least three times) for a reason. I will also make it into a suit even though I intend to use the jacket separately more often than not.

I can't remember if it was dark navy or midnight hopsack, to be honest. It's quite a dark navy. Here's a picture with a fair bit of indoor lighting.

    Rubato

It would be a shame if they were to happen. Here in Europe, they are still competitively priced relative to quality. Slightly cheaper than Bryceland’s, much cheaper than Drake’s (that is now only affordable for me under their archive sale).

    Rubato

Rubato's quality is similar to Bryceland's. I have both jeans, knits and denim shirts (Roper and Sawtooth). I like the cut of Bryceland's jeans (133 vs Lot 1) slightly more, but in terms of quality, they feel comparable. I live in Europe, so I can't comment on the pricing issues in the US, but...

Not at all, in spite of being DB. It’s a fairly open weave hopsack and the jacket is buggy lined. Any breeze goes right through it. Of course, if it’s 30C+ no jacket will be cool enough .

Fox Sport hopsack is nice, I have a summer DB made in it. I particularly like their dark navy. For example: https://foxflannel.com/products/fox-sport-midnight-hopsack

Excellent, I was considering that very same cloth. What weight? (there are a few options if I recall correctly)

Looks nice. I think both stripes work. Where is the cloth from?

    Crockett & Jones MTO Central

I think the salt here un Stockholm is mixed with other things, so perhaps it’s less of an issue? I have a pair of “beater boots” that I only clean every now and then and they don’t seem to have any salt stains.

Galway in brown Cordovan MTO battling the cold (-13C) and snow last night. The Ridgeway sole performs very well under these conditions, better than Dainite (even though for me Dainite is usually ok).

There's no such thing as a 4-season fabric, not in central Europe anyway. Of course, a high-twist wool can be worn inside, but it would look odd and out of place in winter IMHO. High-twist wools are also very difficult to wear as separates like most worsteds. A micro-pattern wouldn't be enough...

Looks very similar to Ridgway. Was this resoling done by C&J or a local cobbler? I’m asking because I didn’t know this sole was an option.

Or even 2x1 I agree. If you have one coat you want something more understated, but if you have four or five, something more dramatic can be fun. Sexton’s RTW coats are slightly less dramatic but still retain the flair that makes them stand out.

It's on the heavy side for a jacket (and cashmere is warmer than say tweed) but it can work as outerwear if it's not too cold outside. I would also wear it inside if the room isn't heated up to over 20C. Alternatively, you could do some kind of short coat like a caban or a peacoat.

Got these Cavendish in black suede from the online sale. I’ve been wanting a pair of these for some time as I’ve enjoyed wearing my Chelsea 8 in black suede. It’s much more versatile than black leather. It’s difficult for to photograph though.

Has anybody made use of W.Bill Classic Coatings? They have some nice light browns / mustard herringbones with depth of colour and still come up to 24oz. I’m looking for heavyish coatings in medium to light colours, ideally with some pattern like herringbone.

Speaking of Coniston, here are mine (bought at the factory in 2017) braving the snow and cold last night when it was -11C.
