Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

The new Corbett does appeal to me in that they are made like hiking boots were when I was a teenager and doing a lot of fell walking in the Lake District. My parents wore welted fell boots made by Hawkins, another Northampton factory shut long ago, sadly. These were very good long lasting...

    Church's Appreciation Thread

I’ve just read Church’s accounts such as they are. They’ve classed themselves as a “Dormant Company” as they are not trading and were not trading in 2022/23 either. All expenses are being covered by the “Parent Company” which I take to mean Prada. Does anyone know what this means? Is it...

HOF: Labels, heels and nail patterns - Secrets to ID the maker

I’d lay money on Cheaney as the maker based on the style of the gold writing on the waist and the look of the soles overall.

Offical TRICKERS shoes and boots thread

I like the no nonsense approach however - none of this " you need first to apply the smoked gossamer wings of a flower fairy, leave overnight whilst you hunt down the rare waxed truffle to make in to a paste as it is the only and I mean only, way to protect your precious assets that are your...

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

A bit strong I admit but what I mean is they have reduced the range by quite a few models and colours of models and reduced the size range - most on the website now only go up to size 11. Plus for last three years only one or even no new models in the HG range. It feels like they are not as...

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

I agree so it’s a pity that C&J have taken a “slash and burn” approach to the HG range over the last two years

    Church's Appreciation Thread

They wear much better than polished leather shoes from other makers and hold up well. However IME after about ten years of regular wear micro surface cracks appear. These do not go deep and do not affect the performance of the shoe.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

On SF other posters have said that shoe factories can only recast width downwards not upwards, so, based on that I’m not surprised EG said this. Stretching can make a big difference however.

That last is very short. I sized up by half size from my usual size.
