    Maybe this would be answered at SW&D but I always thought that moto jacket sleeves were supposed to be longer in order to cover your arms when riding a motorcycle. But yeah… maybe a bit too long still.

    It's also better to use high quality photos (Resolution, lightning, color, composition). I also think that it is good to be very specific about the exact item you would wear.

    I think hypothetical "grid" outfits can be inspiring. However, I don't think it's executed well here. To much "imagine socks" and such. Swedish website/blog Manolo used to make these kind of things and they were great. Here are some examples:

    I don't think you should tone down anything if you really don't want to. It feels like you want approval from people on this forum and I think you will have a hard time finding people here that will like the things you like. Basiclly, you're in the wrong forum.

    I was just offering my opinion on those shoes with shorts based on my taste. I don't have a scientific explanation as to why I think the combination would be awful. I also can't point to any specific feature(s) that make me have this opinion. By "whole" I am reffering to the aesthetic as a whole.

    No because of the whole. Guys try to justify something works because it shares similarities with other things. It would be like claming a western shirt with french cuffs would work equally well with a tuxedo as a tuxedo shirt.

    With your criteria I think a penny loafer is the way to go. Perhaps unlined. Dark brown suede? Col. 8 cordovan? I think espadrilles, huaraches and boat shoes look good with shorts, but that's close to sandal/sneaker territory.

    I also like to wear long sleeves with shorts. I know it's contradictory to do so, but there's something aesthetically pleasing about the look.
