i read that the boots might take awhile to wear in, but after two all-day wears, my ankles were rubbed raw and bloody...anyone else experience this? i'm hesitant to continue wearing them only because of the pain in my ankles. aside from that, i love the way they look though... Yea, the first...

Calling all LLBean Katahdin Iron Works Boots owners

I wore mine today for the first time. My feet felt great but my ankles were killing me! It doesn't help that I'm not used to wearing boots really. Sure hope they break in quickly!

This Budweiser 55 ad explains it all...

I can't even imagine how **** this stuff tastes. I tried one of those 64 calorie Beck's Lights a few weeks ago. Coulda sworn I was drinking water. Felt rather ripped off. And now a beer even lighter? Forget about it.

How many miles did you run today?

^^^you like that app? 8.65 today. Yep! Try the Free version first. It does the mapping and timing and such. I didn't think I'd need the features of the Pro, but bought it anyways because I thought they did such a good job on the Free. But the features have really been pretty cool.

General Bike Thread (Desiderata, Questions, Pics)

Do people actually use bikes to ride to bars? I've plenty about bikes being built for bar hoppin, but never a bicycle... My cousin's husband rode is bike out to bars because he had lost his driver's license. Got himself hit riding home one night too. The settlement was much smaller because he...

How many miles did you run today?

I've done 70 minutes on my bike with runkeeper, and the battery % went down about 24%. I ran 3.5 miles the other day w/o any music or iPhone and it was kinda nice not having that junk. The iPhone can get rather miserable feeling with my ****** Belkin armband. The audio cues of Runkeeper pro...

I bought a Trek 7.3 FX today.. Hybrid / fitness bike. Haven't ridden a bike since my Huffy in high school. I've only taken it for a 5.8 mile ride tonight, but I had fun. http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/bike_path/fx/73fx/

    billy mays found dead

That's sad. I watched 'Pitchmen' a few times and really grew to appreciate this man's passion and talent. It sounds strange given that it it's easy to view him as a blue-shirt, bearded crap-peddler who yells, but he had a brilliant knack for business and marketing and seemed like a nice fellow...

Gatorade vs. Lifewater vs. Vitamin Water etc

I buy the little single serving mixes of Propel fitness water. I mix it up in an old Snapple bottle (glass). 20 calories for 16oz.. I like the grape or lemon flavors, as light as they are, over the taste of plain ole water. I'll drink that right after exercising, and then water from my Brita...

    Computer Lenses

I have a coworker that has pretty normal looking glasses that don't do any magnification. He says they're to help with the glare from the screen. No clue what they're called, but they're definitely not the yellow tint. He rarely wears them.. don't know if it's because they don't help or...

How many miles did you run today?

A side question, does anyone have a recommendation for decent (but not overly expensive) headphones for running? When it gets warm the earbuds get sweaty and slip out of my ear. I use the Sony S2 Sports Clip headphones. I put them on and don't touch them until I take them off at the end. I clip...

How many miles did you run today?

I just started running a couple weeks ago. I always start with about 5-7 minutes of fast paced walking on an incline, then jog for the rest of the time with some fast walking in between(when I get winded). Started by doing 1.25 miles, and now 2 weeks later im up to 2.75 miles in 37 minutes. Is...

    Car Wax

These days, products from Optimum - http://optimumcarcare.com/index.php in particular, the Poli-Seal and Opti-Seal. My car is pearl white and my choice would be different with a darker color I think. I've tried Zaino, I've moved on.

    Vesting of benefits

Your overall compensation package is negotiable, not just the actual salary. I'm a long term contractor (almost 3 years now..). I get more vacation time from my contract company than the company I'm working at gives to their full time employees with less than 5 or 10 years service. I've known...
