Looking for a legit tailor in Istanbul

Soktas looks like they have great stuff. I'm not sure if Marcel or Sartoria will take outside fabric, not sure how tailors feel about that in general, but it's worth a shot!

Looking for a legit tailor in Istanbul

No, but Marcel has been good for me. When I first moved here I looked for a tailor only for alterations. I found these guys - https://www.sartorianapoletana.com - but in an email he said they only make stuff, they don't alter things. He knew a guy who could help me though. And the extremely...

    The Made-to-Measure Thread

Sort of. In Boston I was using a small MTM company called Blank Label. I liked them. Got a few shirts and a couple of suits from them. The 2nd suit, I asked if they could do a DB waistcoat. They said, well, it's not standard, but we'll ask the tailors. What came back was perfect. One of my...

Looking for a legit tailor in Istanbul

Marcel is who I ended up at - His shop is in the heart of Nisantisi and he runs it with his son. Marcel was trained in Italy, speaks at least 3 or 4 languages, and is really friendly. I've picked up a few bespoke shirts and pants from him over the last couple of years that I was really happy...

    The Made-to-Measure Thread

Thank you for this information! My tailor is not in Italy but he is Italian trained and I trust him to pull off the hidden clasp. Thanks!

    The Made-to-Measure Thread

Is it normal for a tailor to be able to create a "hidden button" look on pants? I will get my first pair of bespoke trousers made soon, visiting my tailor tomorrow. I want green flannel, high rise, single pleat, side tabs instead of belt loops. That all seems normal. But the main button, I don't...

Oh jesus I didn't even see that the oatmeal Moon went up, I almost missed my winter grail! Can't wait to get this on.

    Kent Wang - Affiliate thread

Sorry I can't find the old product page for ss and I don't have physical access to mine right now. My chest size fits a typical modern 42R and the SS cardigan in L is a perfectly snug fit. Which I prefer. It's not Michael Scott-y though, just comfortably well fitted. Compared to a recently...

So maybe someone can help me check the math - my best fitting thick shawl collar cardigan is a size L from suitsupply - would L work here as well?

I don't know what else to say except that I'd be willing to buy it literally right this second.

Neat! I actually tried to google Kilcarra the other day and couldn't really find them anymore so I figured something was up. Are you going neapolitan with it or standard cut?

Is the oatmeal donegal on IG a lock for this season? Will it be Kilcarra again or sticking with Botolli from last year? I have a brown donegal from yall from two seasons ago, in a neo 3 roll 2 cut, and it's my absolute all time favorite sports jacket - any chance the new donegal will jump...

This is pretty big imo, Hugo did a YT video earlier this year where he said that pretty much only Suit Supply was worth it for off the rack. Congrats to the S&M crew, yall are movin on up! Unrelated, but I'm considering going bespoke within the year and I kind of just want to take my favorite...

So I finally got the Angelico hopsack jacket in the mail and it's amazing! This might be a weird question, but is there a website or PDF floating around for Angelico's fabric catalog? Really curious what else they are offering.

I get hot easily and sweat a lot so I'm not super hopeful, but I'll give it an honest try. I may also consider this, if it's rough. I do wish SM would mention the trouser lining on their site though. They make a big point to describe their jacket lining, but, like, the honey suit says...

I just got the honey linen/silk. It's fantastic. Gotta get it to my tailor now. Only downside is the pants, which are summer trousers, are lined in a poly blend. It's not mentioned on the site, kind of a bummer to discover, but I can live with it.

I feel your pain. I bought my first suit around 4-5 years ago and was losing weight at the time so I asked them to cut it small. A year later, it was dead to me. I think it might still be alterable, but at this point I'm too afraid to open the suit bag it's in.

SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

Hey @spiermackay, as per your suggestion I sent an email about that honey suit trouser size change, plus I sent a followup to the info@ address just to be safe. I also mentioned that if the swapped pant size isn't available I'd like to change my order to a different suit before it ships. I...
