    Shanghai Tailors: Midrange

Thanks. One more question - seems C&G is located quite far from the central areas of Shanghai and away from any metro lines. Did you have to go to their location on Zhoukang Road for each fitting or do they do hotel visits?

    Shanghai Tailors: Midrange

Thanks. May I ask the pricing for the suit (in RMB)? Imported or domestic fabric? Full or half canvas?

Any more recent experiences with Eleganza Uomo or update on their current pricing? Thanks.

    Shanghai Tailors: Midrange

Interested in C&G based on Stebbin's suit. Where are they located? Also, any experience with shirts from C&G?

Suit & tie for first day of week?

I'm leaning towards wearing a suit & tie. Blazer & tie look seems to be quite popular. Personally, I think it's harder to pull off due to the added colour matching/contrast between the jacket, pants, shirt and tie. Is this look more popular among older gentlemen? I hardly ever see it on a...

    French Cuff

With matching-colour silk knots, I think French cuffs are just as versatile as barrel cuffs. They've become common enough that I don't see them as anything special, extra formal, or "trying too hard." I would and do wear them without a jacket or tie. I would not wear them with noticeable...

Suit & tie for first day of week?

Should I wear a suit & tie for the first day of work at an accounting firm? I suspect most SFers will say yes, however, I'm having second thoughts. The normal dress code is somewhere between business casual and professional, and specifically mentions blazers, dress shirts and polo shirts as...

What to wear with brown ties?

Both are Brooks Bros. I just figured brown ties are less versatile because they're not so commonly seen...or whether there are special 'rules' about brown. Other opinions on brown tie requiring brown belt/shoes?

Are cufflinks normally visible under a jacket?

Assuming proper sleeve lengths, are cufflinks supposed to be visible when worn with a jacket? There seems to be a lot of discussion about cufflink designs, but it seems to me they're always hidden under the jacket sleeve. Do your cufflinks extend past the jacket sleeve when you're seated or...

Shirt that seems impossible to iron

I have a shirt that I haven't been able to iron flat since the first wash. The shirt is striped, and the weave alternates between herringbone and broadcloth. The problem seems to be that the two different weaves have not shrunk by the same proportion. Does this sound like it can be rescued? I...

What to wear with brown ties?

Just bought two brown ties I really like. However, any ideas of what colour shirts and suits to match them with? All my shirts are white, blue or pink and suits are navy or charcoal pinstripe. Both ties are brown, although they look burgandy in the picture. One on the left has gold dots. One on...

1st time suit buyer needs help please with jacket size

At 5'10" and 145 lbs, I'm convinced you would fit a 38 or 40. Most likely, the 38 fits your shoulders properly - you might need a bigger cut around the waist - if so, try a different brand. Most guys your size wear a size 40, but most guys usually wear their suits too big across the shoulders...

    Tie showing through suit

I don't really like the look of the tie peeking through. It doesn't matter when walking, but if it happens when standing still, it might be because the suit is a bit tight. Most of my suits have open quarters, but the tie is only visible through the bottom of my most slim-fitting one. What is...

    New MTM suit- Pics

True, the pants are slim while the waist of the jacket is not. I really like the slim cut of the pants - I think they're the best part of the suit. The natural shoulders fit the look of a relatively slim suit too. I'd keep the pant width as they are and just get a tighter waist.

    New MTM suit- Pics

The whole outfit looks really nice in the new pictures. The jacket length isn't an issue with your height. It's longer than my "hand curls under" guideline, but definitely doesn't look too long. I'd go with more waist suppression next time, but again...VERY NICE.

Tie for orange and pink gingham?

I'd go with a solid. Navy or black.

    STP Corneliani with pics

Agree with the aforementioned points about waist and sleeve length. Lapels look a bit funny - they're short and wide. Let me preface the next point by saying I'm not an expert at this sort of thing: but does anyone else think the shoulders are too wide and boxy? If so, this isn't something that...

We settle some old shirt questions

I've mentioned this before, but I really like the slim fit of this shirt. The length is perfect. Worn with the jeans and sneakers though, the outfit makes you look short. Torso too long and legs too short. I don't think the shirt can be any shorter, so I'm not sure how you'd solve this...

TOOK YOUR GUYS advice but with my personal style

The Taiwan guy's outfit still looks gangster because of the fedora and isn't appropriate for everyday wear, but actually looks quite good. The difference is that his suit fits well. D2K, there's a bit of a slim-fit obsession on this board (definitely applies to me as well), but maybe you can...

TOOK YOUR GUYS advice but with my personal style

I am very interested to see what many of us would say if some of the naysayers posted their pictures in their favorite outfit!! Perry Criticism is only given when it's asked for. Look at the comments in the "Member pictures" thread...all positive, even though some of the outfits are as...
