    Waterproofing prevents polish and other treatments from penetrating properly. Since one doesn’t polish suede, no harm in using a sealant on it.

    I’m sure there is plenty of conflicting advice available, but my 2¢: 1. Never put any kind of waterproofing sealant on leather shoes, but it’s okish to use on suede. 2. Leather doesn’t mind water, particularly good leather. Cheap leather will discolor/run so go ahead and put sealant on that...

    Interesting, I'm a D in G&G as well- 10.5. If their lasts work for you I can ask Fugashin if they have a similar fitting last. But why miss out on a trip to Vietnam- great country, and the price is the same for a custom last as it is for an MTO so might as well.

    Regarding sizing- I’d say their standard lasts fit TTS (I have my own last with them and if you want to go to Vietnam they will make you a personal last at no extra charge). I would say the fit is very close to one of the modern Lobb (7000) or C&J lasts (very close to the 360) but fairly wide...

    Do you know how much C&J can downsize a shoe during a resole? Or if they can take an E to a D fitting? I made the same mistake with the 348 on my Lingfields- and being Chelseas there's no place for a tongue pad.
