I think you broke this thread with this picture. I don't know what the rules are, but if the weather is cold, wear pants. If the weather is hot, don't wear sweater, long socks, and boots. Edit: A word.

So the jackets are too small while pants are too big?

The new wedding tie came . . . unfortunately, I also impulse bought two new suits. I am 5' 4", 135 lbs, and usually 36S Ralph Lauren suits fit me well with minimal alteration. These new suits, however, feel tight in the shoulders. I am unable to cross my arms in neither of them. The...

Thanks, I will wear black oxford the next time I wear this suit. How about this tie from Ralph Lauren? On sale for half the price. https://www.ralphlauren.com/men-accessories-ties-pocket-squares/glen-plaid-silk-narrow-tie/0040124042.html Either way, they won't arrive in time, so I will wear...

For the dinner/drinking/dancing at night, I usually wear navy/charcoal/black suit, but I want to try out this navy striped suit this time. Is it too business-like? I prefer brown brogues here. What's your advice?

I am recently invited to a church wedding ceremony. I have never been to a church wedding ceremony before, is it proper to wear blazer + loafers? Something like this? If loafers aren't appropriate, can I wear Chelsea instead of Oxford?

How do you take such beautiful pictures? I need some pointers.

What color to contrast with blazer?

Try a pair of red trousers instead of black. Red trousers, and white shirt will make your blazer stands out.

******* on point! I would like to recommend that topel uses shoe tree/newspaper to absorb the moisture from the shoes when he is not wearing them. Try to rotate your shoes so that you do not wear the same pair too many days in a row.

lol I meant no offend by the pale Englishman comment. I used to be so dark in my teen and 20s that Asian people would tell me I looked like a field worker, unprompted. After a decade of living in the Pacific Northwest, I now look like a corpse. Needless to say, my pale skin is the envy of all...

Can I see you wear it? I can't imagine that color would look good on a pale white Englishman.

Yeah, I agree. I have worn navy shawl collar cardigan with white OCDB and it looked perfectly fine, but when I tried a polo shirt with this set up, it looked stranged.

I don't know why, but I think wearing a collar shirt with a shawl collar sweater is too repetitive, so I usually wear a short sleeves Henley instead.

I wear a similar set up to bbq/movies/etc.

What color/fabric trousers would you wear with this sport coat?

I like to wear lighter jeans/cotton pants and OCDB with my blue herringbone sport coat. When I do wear a tie with this jacket, I usually wear a knit tie with jeans, or a repp tie with pants. This is the exact sport coat I have:

Anyone have a Brooks Brothers contact you trust?

The only person I trust at Portland's BB about these things is Stan, the tailor.

Any idea what these shoes are?

I think this is Allen Edmonds' Randolph Penny Loafer. Edit: You are in luck: They are currently on sale...

    TWO SHADES?

If you wear two shades of the same color, people will mistake it for an old suit; suit's pants usually get faded faster than the jacket. A pair of black or white pants will work with your red blazer.

    How to rock the "airtie"?

Jonny Lee Miller, who plays Sherlock Holmes in Elementary, dresses like this often in the show. You can google his pictures from the show and see all the different collars he wears in it. I think he looks good in it. Then again, he was Angelina Jolie's first husband, so maybe you do have to be...
