    Best Dressed Statesman

Don't know the context here but would guess they're arresting him because of the offense done to that stellar fit by the hideously low rise on those cords

Luxire Custom Clothing - Official Affiliate Thread

@luxire Since my last order it appears the website and ordering forms have changed. In the past I have submitted orders without measurements and style details and described these in follow-up email since my orders are always based on previous patterns and orders. I placed an order for pants...

Athleisure Wear Going Out Of Style?

When "athleisure" goes away, it can only be replaced by something worse. By worse, I mean somehow cheaper clothes, which also means they will be uglier and less desirable, but people will buy it because "it's new" and because that's what will be promoted because it costs nothing to manufacture...

    WAYWRN: Classic Menswear, Casual Style

I think this is fantastic, black here is no problem. A solid color shirt would have been better I think but great nonetheless.

We Have Lost the War, Now Come the Reparations

I wonder if maxalex posted this in our fine forum in hopes of finding some degree of solace in the wake of that enlightening media article. What does he find? A community which celebrates the enjoyment of classic mens clothing by calling such "snobbery" and affectation. If this is what one...

Pantherella hast sullied their fine product with gaudy logos. I am forlorn.

Imagine my shock when, having recently received a package containing dress-socks from this once-fine establishment, I spied the letters P-a-n-t-h-e-r-e-l-l-a emblazoned in bright white print on each pair! Lo! On first opening of the package, the print that I spied I believed to be part of the...

Gen Z "Zoomers" and Classic Menswear

I don't know why anyone would expect gen Z or future generations to care about what we call classic menswear. Not in their lifetimes has it been worn regularly except for among very select groups of people and then at work only. At this point jackets, ties and leather shoes are for most...

The Way They Wore: Images from the Past

I really like this thread. These kinds of images of dress from a time when people were dressed as rule are what got me into CM. You can go on shorpy and see all walks of life--blue collar workers, farmers, college kids, etc.--all wearing real clothes well, even if they've got a couple snags or...

Chelsea boots – a little embarrassing?!

Of course, but it seems inevitable that with time even hobbyists become less moved by historical significance and more by contemporary realities and personal aesthetics. Like the black tie thread in this forum, anyone posting there for info and feedback will now likely receive a "Just wear...

Chelsea boots – a little embarrassing?!

Are you really surprised, @dieworkwear? Given that--outside of vanishingly limited contexts--the CM mode of dress is now relegated to eccentrics and hobbyists, it can't be grounded in anything other than the whims of the relatively few still interested. No one cares that Chelsea boots have...

What CM "Basic" Do You Not Own?

^ I don't get this sentiment. It does not seem to be difficult to understand when someone in a Classic Menswear forum says they don't like the range of "streetwear" aesthetics out there. That also doesn't seem to me to have anything to do with age or experience. I am well into middle age myself...

    WAYWRN: Classic Menswear, Casual Style

I think this fit works great. It may not lend itself easily to traditional coordination rules, but to my eye this looks great. Some things just work, despite our applied logic.

Epaulet shop - Official Affiliate thread

I ordered a couple Doyles that I believe were in-stock over 2 weeks ago. I haven't yet received any update or shipping notice, and their chatbot indicates my order is "awaiting fulfillment". Is this shipping time normal, or perhaps I ordered items that were to be made and I did not realize this...

Epaulet shop - Official Affiliate thread

Can anyone comment on the current sizing for Doyles as compared to the last couple years? The MTO one I received last fall was cut noticeably larger than the earlier ones I have. Are they generally the same as last year, or different? @Epaulet Looking at the rtw options online, size 42. Thanks

SPIER & MACKAY - Official Affiliate Thread

Some of the overshirts are listed as with a curved hem. Are there pictures of the back floating around anywhere? I think that would be a shame if the fit is otherwise more coat-like from the weight of the fabric, etc.

Luxire Custom Clothing - Official Affiliate Thread

@boot_owl I would consider reducing sleeve at wrist, but sleeve at bicep looks fine to me.
