Excited about the moleskins. Was really disappointed with some I got from a UK vendor before Christmas.

Ran in during my lunch and picked up two pairs (light blue, natural). Also had to size up - I was a 33Con in the wool trousers this fall, but went with a 34Con in the linens. I'm glad I was able to go in to try them on. My waist has indeed gone up a bit over the winter, but the biggest issue was...

I'm not sure you can alter any chinos to make them hip. That's what skinny jeans are for. (Tongue firmly in cheek, as that's pretty much all I wear all summer :-)

Multiple shirt profiles tied to your account, such as one for more casual shirts (e.g. shorter tail, different button placement for leaving top 1-2 undone), and one for dress shirts (longer tails to stay tucked, slightly slimmer to fit under a jacket).

Including the linen (or linen-wool?) trousers I've heard rumours of :-)

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

It's not the end of the world, and overall looks decent. A lower button stance would result in longer lapels and a longer shirt triangle, which in turn would visually elongate your torso. Look forward to seeing a full photo!

A good point - I had assumed it was actually black, and the appearance here was an artifact of the photo/lighting. Maybe Benjamin can confirm this point. Stylistic choices are still open for discussion :-)

I do like the sweep of the lapels and the bottom quarters - it has a nice flow to it. I think the button may be a bit high, and the jacket a bit short, but it's not out of line with modern styling.

Damn. Wish I had known about this collar 2 weeks ago when the order went in for my two remaining MTM shirts, or even for the first one. This would have been nice on the slubby puddledock fabric. Next time, I guess...

I already have two pairs of Ralph Lauren moleskin jeans which I quite like - they're what got me turned onto the material. I was hoping the PC ones (jeans, vs. the trousers they also have) would be similar, but sadly not. Will be nice to have a couple of other stylistic options!

Very excited for this. I bought two pairs from Peter Christian just before Christmas, but they're not quite what I was hoping for in terms of fit. Unfortunately with Christmas, and being until early January, I missed the window to return them and they're in the bottom of my dresser with the...

Yep. My office is 10 minutes from the Mississauga shop, so I just go in, but same process. I actually got my first MTM shirt today, and will be making a few adjustments. Vik (store mgr) suggested I take it home, wash it, and wear it a few times before settling on the adjustments. Solid advice...

Storefronts in Mississauga and downtown. I've got a good portion of my wardrobe from them - few pairs of trousers, couple of dress/sport shirts, and several linen and polos for the summer. Also just got a new grey/charcoal staple suit from them. I also just got a call that the first of 3 MTO...

The traditional rule is no watch, the implication being that if you are looking at it, you have somewhere else to be. Alternatively, as mentioned something discreet/understated is acceptable. http://www.blacktieguide.com/Classic/Classic_Accessories.htm

It's about half the size of the Mississauga outlet. Mostly the same stuff, just less. Does have the advantage of being a few doors down from the BB outlet though which helps with some browsing efficiency.

Don't overthink it. Any white linen square will do. Anyone getter my close enough to check it in that great detail is not likely interested in the square anyway. I don't know what the going rate in Europe is for them, but by a converted price (to CDN) that's a little steep. On a an...
