What are you drinking right now?

Excellent story and good to see you still endorse the humble Campari! Looks to be an excellent Negroni - glass choice excepted of course. 😉

What are you drinking right now?

That's the kind of advice I was after! Negroni is the only cocktail I would rather have than its spirit counterpart. I like an Old Fashioned or Manhattan but would rather have a decent bourbon or rye in most cases. My homemade Negronis leave a lot to be desired - Gordon's, Campari and Martini...

Oh I have no doubt. This forum is a bastion of excellent advice - my bank manager can attest to that.

What are you drinking right now?

Just got into Negronis lately after a trip to Italy. What are people's recommendations for some good quality ingredients that complement one another. I understand Antica Formula is the ne plus ultra of sweet vermouths but not sure where to go from there.

What stereo(s) do you listen to? What do you want?

I must say that the looks were a major factor in my choice. Just listening now and the valves look so good with the wood grain and angled mirrors. Plus the cooling fins set it off nicely - as well as doing a great job. Only the Italians could pull it off. Next upgrade is my camera. ?

What stereo(s) do you listen to? What do you want?

I've had a Naim system for over 15 years and have had the bug to change the amp for a while now. Finally got my hi-fi at a stage now where I won't be looking to upgrade until the CD player packs in (at which stage I shall go down the streaming route). Naim CD5X with Flatcap 2X to Pathos Logos...

Glad to see this here as I have just ordered a bottle and their rose. How did you find it? Hoping it is approachable young.

Having enjoyed their entry level and mid-tier offerings, I am hoping this lives up to expectations tonight with a two rib beef and all the trimmings.

Continuing the Catena theme, this was one of the best wines I have had.

My first and probably last venture into the 100 Parker point club. I am a big Catena fan and have been after this particular one for a while. Patience is not my strong suit but I intend to cellar this for at least 10 years - possibly 20.

    The Official Wine Thread

Decent Californian wines are hard to come by in England. In fact, outside of internet sellers and local wine shops (chancing their arm with huge mark-ups) they are just not represented. I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find a couple of Paso Robles reds at my local supermarket the other...

Yes they are. I am a man of simple tastes.

What are you drinking right now?

Autumn has started in good old England so log fires and Armagnac are order of the day.

Super rounded and a perfect partner with homemade pizza (with added chilli).

A good example of a traditional Rioja - nothing spectacular though.
