Need a Person that still wears suits often and appreciates them

Yes, I likely have something that would fit you. Might need an inch let out on the pants length, but the rest seems spot on. Let me look tomorrow.

What are your sizes? Shoulder, arm, waist, chest, inseam, etc. I will see if I have something that will work for you. For instance shoulder mid neck to shoulder seam: X inches. Arm: From shoulder seam to wrist bone. Others are circumference or length.

Which are the best Italian brands for tailored clothing?

At some point it becomes a factor of personal style. Wearing a Kiton suit coat is like wearing a sweater. Wearing a Brioni suit coat is closer to wearing a suit of armor. Isaia is cut slimmer and in the long sizes longer. Belvest seems more austere with nice fabrics but not near the...

The Shell Cordovan, non-Alden Shoe and Boot Thread

I graduated from a Preppy College in 1968 and these were de riguere wear for classes in that era. This, a London Fog jacket, Gant shirt and Corbin slacks. Soon after flip flops and cutoffs took over. I prefer the old 'dress for success' style.

What is the best quality garment you own?

Thirty years ago there was little that could be found on any floor at Wilkes Bashford that I would not have been proud to wear......if I could have afforded it in the first place.

What is the best quality garment you own?

They definitely make exquisite garments mostly by hand. I still have several, but unfortunately I no longer can get into them. In fact in honor of this thread if someone would still wear a single breasted/pleated cuffed trouser suit in 42L w pants in 34 waist and 31/32 length, pm me. I will be...

What is the best quality garment you own?

The older RL Purple Label were excellent garments. I think made by St Andrews in Italy. https://www.saintandrews.it/ The RLPL shoes were once by Edward Green. Sadly that has all stopped now. The true beauty of that arrangement was that RL had massive sales to clear out inventory so you...

What is the best quality garment you own?

If you don't like a thread it is best to move on to a thread you do like. No reason to make such a douche reply.

What is the best quality garment you own?

I have a fair number of Kiton odd jackets and suits. Many in cashmere, but it is a cashmere woven like a worsted wool. They are nice, but the Blanc Blu or 180s wool is the true top of their line. Both the odd and suit jackets wear more like a sweater than a structured jacket due to their...

Inflation & Menswear: Is inflation affecting your shopping habits?

In many cases vintage are both better value and better garments than new. I just spent a week in LV for a wedding and the suits I saw on the staff at the better restaurants all looked like they were wearing their little brothers suit. The Tom Ford don't cover your back pockets with your suit...

Inflation & Menswear: Is inflation affecting your shopping habits?

I have not seen much inflation in clothing prices. I have been retired for six years now so probably haven't bought a suit or pair of shoes in ten years. I do see EG shoes are $1285 in the US and I remember those at $860, but 50% over ten years is not outlandish. I also was in LV for a...

Is Vass really worth the money?

I don't remember what Vass named that color but it is a reddish brown that is quite nice. Thank you.

    Large metal watches with tailoring.

Fleming was a friend and admirer of Charles Englehard, Jr. the proprietor of Englehard Industries which made industrial things out of Gold, Silver, Platinum and other precious metals. Here is an image of Englehard and you can guess which character was modeled after him. BTW, Englehard had a...

Glad you like it, but clearly not everyone's cup of tea.

The closest in my mind might be the DJ36 on jubilee.

    Large metal watches with tailoring.

This thread reminds me of a time some decades ago when I hosted something called the Champagne Jam in a large American city that was quite the event of the year for what was afterall a Disco crowd. A black tie event and the venue provided free champagne for the night. I had a good friend at...

    Walking in "Good" Shoes?

When I was working and living in more formal areas, I would wear good shoes not only with my suits at work (remember those days?) but when we went out in the evenings or on weekends. Now in a very informal retirement/resort locale, I never dress up and never wear good shoes which is why I have...

Need a Person that still wears suits often and appreciates them

That is one of my current problems given my old man's 38" waist. But if I had to wear suits again, I suppose I would work down at least to that 36" size. Keep it up you will get there.

I am afraid wearing good suits has gone the way of the Dodo bird and is extinct.
