The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

Looks like someone had one in the original frame. According to this post from 2013 the print alone estimated at $350-550. No idea how the market is in 2024, but willing to find out.

Possible pop today on a mezzotint print, ca. 1910 in London. Signed in pencil by John Cother Webb This particular one seems to have made the cover of a book about the printmaker.

I know this isn't the office furniture thread but... Somehow our office redo included all HM chairs. Not sure about the other stuff but every cube and office got either an Aeron or an Embody. I was assigned an Embody and quickly swapped it out for an Aeron. When they closed a small satellite...

The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

Love it. Our old local community college somehow had lots of these (real HM tags ..) in their conference rooms at least up until the early aughts. Also wondered where they would go when they day came to remodel ...

That is awful, I hope he can bounce back somehow. Sorry, man.

I really wanted to laugh but somehow, hearing that actually made my brain hurt a little. A furled eyebrow smile is best I can do. Coincidentally my wife had some spare fresh dill a couple days ago and so we unexpectedly whipped up fresh tzatziki for the first time. Turned out great. At risk...

The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

Cool video, thanks! The resolution is off the charts so it's nice to look at but venturing a guess I'd say a litho? I'm out of my element. Paper has some texture and semi glossy as shown in this reflection. Opinions welcomed. Edit: it's certainly a reproduction of some sort. Hi res but a...

Some junk in that trunk. Speaking of junk, no more LV to be had and the place was dry AF. I left this really cool print (poster??) behind but then swung back an hour later when passing by for another errand and grabbed it. Nicely matted and framed although the white print border has yellowed...

Interesting, I have never seen kangaroo leather that looked like that texture, only smooth.

Great shells but man those mocs look special. Kudu, or some type of antelope leather?

Tourist pieces but not terrible. Overall nice look and some (modest) value as decorative pieces.

Yeah, i am clueless but the quality of the materials and assembly is outstanding. Check out the "pattern matching" and logo symmetry around the borders and central strap. Also the tight seam of the strap, at the rivet (last pic). And the piping..it's all tightly done with zero distortions...

The Official Thrift / Discount Store Bragging Thread Part III (Sept 2018-)

Just placed a totally random $30 bet on this LV bag while waiting to check out. I know zero about LV, but the leather straps tonality caught my eye and a 30 second scan in hand said if it's fake, someone at least made a very sincere & serious effort based on the high build quality, fwiw.
