Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

As a disclaimer, most of my kapital stuff is pretty tame: a couple of ring coats, some long sleeves, some jeans, and an indigo farmer/hospital jacket. I like to mix my kapital with shirts, shorts, and pants from corridor. Corridor is definitely more "regular" clothing than kapital, but they...

Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

Different fabric will drape differently - I swim in my denim coat but really like the way the green cotton holds its ambiguous shape. I've gotten mine used and the small variations in color that the green cotton picks up after a few washes are nice - just something to look forward to.

Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

LMAO are you me? I have the same three ring coats and the kakishibu jeans. Keep the green cotton ring coat though, it looks like it fits nearly the same. Is it possible it just shrunk a little in the wash?

Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

I think the jacket looks great, and I hope you get more of a chance to wear it as we go into fall. If anything, I think the hat and sunglasses throw it off a bit, but your core garms work well together.

Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

For the real cold season in Chicago, Kapital makes a Melton wool ring coat that is really nice. Independence usually gets a few of them in the fall if you want to check it out.

That looks remarkably similar to my denim ring coat. I have a size 1 and it fits great on my 5'5" frame. Unless you have unusually long arms or torso, I think any size ring coat will fit you. I have had multiple ring coats in sizes from 1 to 3, and they all fit like they were supposed to, just...

I haven't seen that jacket before, but I love the pattern!

Off the radar brands you love - please post!

Though more casual than some of the other brands mentioned here, La Botte Gardiane makes a good pair of shoes. They are more middle of the road, but I am pleased with the derbies I got. They are also very accomodating for custom orders. I've never seen them talked about on English-speaking sites.

Eekie at independence recommended soaking with borax in hot water, assuming you sized up. That should reduce the crocking, and it's not like you'll get really contrasty fades with that material anyway, so no harm in soaking.

Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

I have the #5 and the #7 century denim jeans and noticed that while the #7 shrank quite a bit, the #5 did not shrink as much. Based on this, I would recommend waiting to hem until at least one wash, if not longer.

I checked that right when it opened and so much of it was already sold. Decent prices on ring coats though.

Kapital - hippies, Japanese farmers and post-apocalypse survivors

So, uh, anyone on here trying to get a fukubukuro from Kapital this year? As i understand it, you've got to either a.) know someone in Japan, or b.) wait until they pop up on Yahoo japan. Is bandana almanac still a thing and offering to proxy them? I've noticed the blog has slowed down.
