I mean this earnestly: Just show Edwin the picture, tell him you like the cut, and describe what you like about it. These guys are not arrogant or stand-offish in the least.

re Steed, I got the sense that they are moving away from the west coast to make their travel to the US easier. Basically only Eastern and Central time zones. Shorter trips, less time away from family, etc. They can make maybe 150 suits per year. I bet they are simply confident they can fill...

Typically, tips are large and provided to the first styleforum member who answers the who do I tip question. (I take my visiting tailor out to dinner when he's in town, and you might (once you know them) offer a bottle of something they drink or the like. But you don't need to give them cash.)

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

It's a pretty good first go at MTM to be honest. There may be some tweaks, but I wouldn't worry too much. My first concern would be the sleeves. I can't tell from the photo if it's a pitch issue or something else, but I'd want to remove the waves across the upper arm.

    Lee Marsh

I posted this in the classic menswear forum, but maybe it'll get more traction here: Does anyone have any experience with Lee Marsh: https://www.leemarsh.co.uk/ I very much like some of his casual bespoke jackets. Let me know what you know. And, of course, if anyone in Houston wants to get him...

Is this blazer can be fixed?

There is a whole thread on this (Tailor Fit and Feedback) where people who know what they are talking about weigh in. I don't participate in that thread because I don't know what I'm talking about. Looks like it is sitting on your right hip, which causes the wrinkles. They are pretty minor...

Equus Leather - English Handstitched Bridle Leather Belts - Official Affiliate and Review Thread

It's wild to me that folks with enough money to be buying bespoke leather goods can't conceptualize how little money there is in a mom and pop leather goods store. They didn't have some factory full of outworkers. They didn't own the tannery or the metalworks or the farm. They were...

Advice for First Pair of Bespoke Trousers

I think it is smart and important to share your past experiences with the maker. I'd wear to the first meeting a pair of trousers you think fit you well and share with them what you like and don't like about them. You might also bring an example of problem trousers that don't work for you. No...

Advice for First Pair of Bespoke Trousers

Who is the maker? They will have their defaults and preferences on the things you're uncertain of and I suggest deferring to them. This reads like a carefully thought out MTM order, but I'd view bespoke as less of you providing specifics (21cm leg opening) and more of your maker (assuming...

Equus Leather - English Handstitched Bridle Leather Belts - Official Affiliate and Review Thread

Look, I'm almost certainly out bigger than anyone on this (including client gifts that will now never be made). But it's not clear what they are actually supposed to do if the business folds. Bankruptcy sucks for the creditors. We'll all share a bit of the pain, but their pain is bigger. I...
